The Sandwich Public Library District was established as a public library in 1926. Today, we are a gateway for print and electronic information. We have something NEW in our Kids Area!

Stop by and pick up a FREE F.A.R.M. Bag, courtesy of DeKalb County Farm Bureau Agricultural Literacy! Each bag includes a themed, hands-on activity, step-by-step instructions, necessary supplies, and additional reading materials to keep the learning going.

A new theme will be available each month, and we’re kicking off September with APPLES! 🍎

Two September dates to keep in mind!

The library will be closed Monday, September 7 for Labor Day and the building will be closed Saturday, September 12 for scheduled cleaning.

While the building is closed on September 12, staff will be on site and curbside service will be available for book pickup, scanning, faxing, copying, book locker requests, and sticker renewals.

To help us better assist you, please call ahead at 815-786-8308. Curbside service will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

We appreciate your patience and understanding while we give the library a little refresh!

With his unforgettable voice and larger-than-life performances, Tim Curry brought some truly memorable characters to the screen. His movies have given us plenty of laughs, scares, and moments we’ll never forget.

And books will certainly be part of how we remember her. Through Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, millions of books have made their way into the hands of children, inspiring a love of reading from the very beginning. We couldn’t think of a more fitting way to remember Dolly than with books.

Electronics Recycling Week is underway at the library! If you have electronics you’re ready to part with, bring them in now through August 27 during regular library hours.

There are no residency restrictions. This event is open to everyone! The only items we cannot accept are TVs and large appliances.

Electronics will be collected by an R2v3-certified recycler, which follows standards for data security and responsible electronics recycling.

¡La Semana de Reciclaje de Aparatos Electrónicos ya comenzó en la biblioteca! Si tienes aparatos electrónicos que ya no utilizas, puedes traerlos a la biblioteca durante nuestro horario regular, de ahora hasta el 27 de agosto.

No hay restricciones de residencia, todos pueden participar! Las únicas excepciones son televisores y electrodomésticos grandes, ya que no podemos recibirlos.

In case you missed our last Electronics Recycling Week, we’re bringing it back! Starting this Friday, bring your unwanted electronics to the library during regular hours through August 27.

Electronics will be collected by an R2v3-certified recycler, which follows standards for data security and responsible electronics recycling. Happy recycling! ♻
