Couple announcements! Because of the bad weather last month SHWD DID NOT do monthly cut-offs. It has come to our attention that there are several accounts that have a balance from January, please make sure you bring your account current, we will be doing cut-offs on the morning of the 23rd of February.

Sandy Hook Water District will be opening at 10:00 am today January 28, 2026. Please use caution coming up Howards Ck. Rd. It is still ice packed. If you use our drive-thru window, please be prepared to back up to turn around, our hill is too slick to go up.

Unfortunately I was/am unable to get to work, therefore Sandy Hook Water District will remain closed today. Hopefully I’ll have better luck tomorrow. Stay home, safe and warm. God Bless

Sandy Hook Water District will be closed today, January 26, 2026. Unfortunately, This will also cause a delay in bills being mailed. They are, however, uploaded and ready to go as soon as we are able to open safely.
Please keep road crews and anyone that has to travel in these conditions in your thoughts and prayers. Stay warm and safe. God Bless!

Due to the current weather conditions, all Elliott County Government Offices will be closed tomorrow, January 26th. We will reevaluate tomorrow afternoon and advise for Tuesday, January 27th.

Please continue to keep in mind all road crews, utility line workers, first responders, and anyone else who must be on the road during inclement weather.

Everyone please stay safe and keep warm.

Attention Middle Fork customers on the Boil Water Advisory: We just got word that the BWA has been lifted!

Water leaks have been fixed, customers in the middle fork area should have or will have water shortly. Boil water advisory will be in effect from the sheepskin/32 (starting at Curtis lovall residence) and all of Middle Fork, including side roads. We will post lift as soon as we get word. Thank you to our customers and Joe & Royce for all the work you guys do!

Please be patient customers on middle Fork. Both operators are fixing the second leak as I typed this. Please say a special prayer for them. They have been out in this cold all day and still have another couple hours. There will be a boil water advisory for those customers affected. I will post the specific areas once I hear back from them. Thank you and as always, God bless.

Good afternoon! We are currently experiencing a water outage on both forks of Middle Fork Road. Maintenance is working on locating the issue now and we will update as soon as we have more information. Thank you and God Bless!
