A raccoon in our area has tested positive for rabies.
Here are some tips to keep you and your family, including your pets, safe:
• Keep your pets up to date on their rabies vaccinations.
• Never approach or feed wild animals.
• If you see an animal acting unusually aggressive, unusually friendly, disoriented, or otherwise behaving strangely, report it to Animal Services.
We know the internet has made us all a little fond of raccoons lately, but this isn't one of those moments and this isn’t Jimothy. 🦝 Please admire wildlife from a safe distance. Thank you!
‼️🦝 PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT🦝‼️
Earlier this week, Fulton County Animal Services responded to a call in Sandy Springs in reference to a resident who had been attacked and bitten several times by a raccoon. The raccoon was removed and subsequently tested positive for Rabies.
We are requesting anyone who observes an animal exhibiting odd behavior to call 911. This is also a good reminder to make sure your pets are up-to-date on their Rabies vaccinations.
