Today at the Board of County Commission meeting, I was proud to recognize Leslie Mujica, Kimberly Martinez, and Brenda Ocampo in celebration of Latino Heritage Month!
These three incredible women exemplify leadership, service, and a deep commitment to giving back to our Southern Nevada community.
Leslie Mujica is a dedicated community and industry leader who advocates for the Unionized Electrical Industry, representing IBEW Local 357 and Southern Nevada NECA. Her work supporting labor rights, fair wages, and a just future, along with her service on numerous boards and commissions throughout Nevada, continues to make an incredible impact.
Kimberly Martinez and Brenda Ocampo of Vegas Valley Injury Law have spent the past five years giving back to the community they proudly call home. With deep roots in their Mexican heritage, they have made it a priority to support local schools, children, and families through back-to-school events, holiday giving, cultural celebrations, and countless community initiatives throughout the year.
Latino Heritage Month gives us an opportunity not only to celebrate the rich culture and contributions of our Latino community, but also to recognize individuals who continue to lead, serve, and create opportunities for others.
