Door-to-door solicitors can be legitimate, but you should always put your personal safety first.
👀 Check who is outside before opening the door.
🗣️ Speak through the door or a video doorbell if you prefer.
🪪 Ask for identification when appropriate.
🔐 Never allow an unexpected stranger into your home.
💳 Don't feel pressured to make an immediate purchase or provide personal information.
If someone's behavior becomes threatening or you believe a crime is occurring, call police.
Your safety is more important than being polite.

🚗 Your vehicle is not a safe — and don't make it an easy target for theft.
Every time you park:
🔒 Lock your doors.
👜 Remove valuables from the vehicle.
🪟 Roll up your windows.
🔑 Take your keys with you.
💡 Park in a well-lit area when possible.
🚘 Use your vehicle's anti-theft features.
And never leave your vehicle running unattended.
Even an empty bag can look valuable to someone looking through a window.
Lock it. Remove it. Secure it.

Believe Them.
Someone you know tells you they’re being abused. What do you say?
Start with:
“I believe you.”
“This isn’t your fault.”
“You don’t deserve this.”
“I’m here for you.”
“How can I help?”
You don't need to have all the answers.
You don't need to tell them what they should do.
And you don't need to fix everything.
Sometimes the most powerful thing you can offer is a safe person who listens without judgment.
See the pattern. Support the person.

💡 Porch and exterior lights on?
📹 Cameras or video doorbell working?

During America's Safe Schools Week, we're reminding students, parents, educators and community members that everyone has a role in creating safe places to learn.
🎒 Students: Report threats, suspicious activity or safety concerns to a trusted adult.
👨‍👩‍👧 Parents: Talk with your children about speaking up when something doesn't seem right.
🚗 Drivers: Slow down, stay alert and use extra caution around schools, crosswalks and school buses.
🤝 Community members: Pay attention and report legitimate safety concerns.
Safe students. Safe schools. Safe community.

Remember, it's illegal to do wheelies and other reckless stunts on Utah roads. You also MUST have registration, insurance and a motorcycle endorsement to operate a motorcycle or e-motorcycle on Utah roads. You could be cited and have your vehicle impounded. Thank you to our concerned citizens for keeping an eye out and reporting this behavior. If you see something like this, please report it. Have a great weekend!
