🚨We are in need of Sandy Youth Court Volunteers!!!🚨
Youth Court is an alternative approach to juvenile justice in which youth referred for minor offenses; are sentenced by a jury of their peers. Youth Court employs a restorative justice-based approach that applies the skills and abilities of Sandy City juveniles to provide a positive peer influence, to hold youth accountable for their actions, and to strengthen their ties to school and community.

The requirements to be a Sandy Youth Court panel member are:
☑️You must be in 9th to 12th grade for the upcoming school year.
☑️You must be a Sandy resident or attend a high school in Sandy.
☑️You must be able to attend Youth Court every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month, from September through May.
☑️You must commit to attending the mandatory summer training, usually in August.
☑️You must pass a criminal background check.

Online Gaming Safety

Online gaming is fun, but it's important to play safely.

Remember:

🕹 Only play with people you know in real life
🕹 Never share personal information
🕹 Don't move conversations to private apps or texting
🕹 Tell a trusted adult if someone makes you uncomfortable

Predators often use gaming platforms to start conversations with youth.

Stay alert and game smart.

Ask your child:

❓ Who do you talk to online?
❓ What apps are you using?
❓ Has anyone ever made you uncomfortable online?
❓ Would you tell me if something happened?

Children are more likely to seek help when they know they won't get in trouble for speaking up.

Keep the conversation open and judgment-free.
