Our residents were invited this past weekend to be the honorary judges for a kids baking championship at the Sandy Historical Society (Sandy Historical Museum). Sign us up for any judging that involves cake! 🍰

Our residents had so much fun meeting the bright young chefs and trying their dishes. What are you baking this sunny season?

“There’s a perfume of a million flowers
Clinging to the heart of old Hawaii
There’s a rainbow following the showers
Bringing me a part of old Hawaii”
- A Song of Old Hawaii written in 1938 by Johnny Noble and Gordon Beecher

We spent the afternoon celebrating old Hawaii with a luau! Our residents enjoyed a lunch of Hawaiian meatballs, kalua pork, macaroni salad, vegetable skewers, and of course, pineapple upside down cake!

We're thrilled to earn another deficiency-free state survey in May 2026! This is our fourth deficiency-free state survey in two years, shortly following our assisted living survey results in March. This is the highest recognition awarded by the state, reflecting excellence in clinical and environmental compliance, as well as positive feedback from both residents and staff.

Executive Director Maddie Almodovar stated: "These kinds of results don’t happen overnight. They are achieved through daily discipline and dedication. It is a team effort, and I am surrounded by the most fantastic humans. My Memory Care Administrator, Crissy Olinger, is a true inspiration to work with. Anyone who spends five minutes with her can feel the love she has for her residents. I look forward to many more years of providing residents and families with the high level of care they need and deserve."

“In 1982, the Japanese Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries created the term shinrin-yoku, which translates to 'forest bathing' or 'absorbing the forest atmosphere.' The practice encourages people to simply spend time in nature.” Qin Lee

Our assisted living and memory care residents spent the afternoon forest bathing. We walked by the stream, admired the wildflowers, talked to the trees, and visited the fry and fingerling salmon from the underwater viewing platform.

How have you spent time in nature lately?
