Taylor Vorbeck - Lee County Commissioner, District 4

Taylor Vorbeck - Lee County Commissioner, District 4 Lee County Commissioner for District 4 Hello my name is Taylor Vorbeck, and I want to thank you for allowing me a few minutes to introduce myself.

I am running for the District 4 County Commissioner seat, and I hope to gain your support and ultimately your vote to keep Lee County strong, smart and safe. My family and I have been honored to call Lee County home since the beginning of 2019, but we’ve been North Carolinians since 2007. We moved from two small towns in Florida in hopes of finding something bigger and better, and what we’ve learn

ed over the last decade is bigger isn’t always better, and it’s always the right fit for everyone. We decided that Lee county was the place to plant roots and raise our family. So that’s exactly what we are doing with our four young children, here in Lee County. They are in school here, participate in sports here and we are active members in our local church. My husband and I both own small businesses, mine is located here in Sanford, and we are well versed in the time, effort and grit it takes to operate and own a small business. I am a local softball coach for U-11 girls, run the events at our church, volunteer where I can, and have started a local nonprofit for used sports equipment. I am a NC State alumni with an Agricultural Business Management degree, and I was able to gain an understanding of and knowledge of just how important agriculture is to this state as well as to our residents right here in Lee County. I will continue the efforts of our current members who have worked to decrease the tax rate, and aid in the efforts of balanced housing. Lee County welcomed us with open arms and I will be the conduit that fosters that same sense of community that has gotten lost over the last few years, and look forward to bringing my “Be the Good” motto to the residents of District 4.

I will now and forever be for the citizens of Lee County. I encourage you to always reach out to me if you ever question a vote or want to know my thoughts behind something! My lenses that I view my decisions through are Jesus and common sense, and I’m happy to have any tough conversation that comes at me. Never be more educated than your level of obedience.

One thing I try to stay in this role, is my authentic self. It’s difficult when the “unspoken expectations” of others start to shrink the version of my authentic self, but what I know is that I’m only best when I’m my true self, and the person God created me to be.

All registered Republicans (as of 1-31-2025) are able to come and participate in the precinct meetings, that will then be followed by the County convention. It’s during these conventions (odd election year) that the chairman and other officers are selected. These meetings might seem trivial but they are what sets the culture and tone of the Republican Party in Lee County. With over 13,000 registered Republicans… don’t let just those few who show up be the only voice! I need you, our County needs you, we can change the culture but it takes showing up and speaking up to make that change!

On Monday, December 5th, in front of family & friends, I had the privileged to be sworn into office by Senator Burgin. It’s a honor to be able to serve the citizens of Lee County, and I’m excited at this next chapter of life. Thank you to the voters, supporters and the ones who worked countless hours to get me to where I am! I am blessed to call Lee County home, and look forward to the next 4 years serving the community and being the best steward I can be.
