On May 4, 2018, The Deep River Volunteer Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle collision on US1 Highway near the Zion Church Road Overpass. Units arrived on scene to find three vehicles involved with the North Bound Lanes of US1 Highway blocked. Two Air Medical Transport Units were requested to transport two patients from the scene. After further evaluation one Air Medical Unit was cancelled.

On March 30, 2018 at 10:23am The Deep River Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to US 1 North Bound near Colon Road for a Motor Vehicle Collision; car vs. tree. Deep River Personnel arrived on scene to find heavy damage to the vehicle with two subjects pinned in the car. Two separate Air Medical Transport Units were requested along Northview Fire Department for assistance.

On January 8th, 2018 at 1:44 pm The Deep River Volunteer Fire Department responded to a single vehicle accident located on Poplar Springs Church Road. One patient was still entrapped in the vehicle when responders arrived with a second patient free of the vehicle. A short time later responders had the patient extricated from the vehicle. Central Carolina Advance Life Support evaluated the patients, one was taken by ground transport and a second patient was transported by Carolina Air Care.

In the first five days of 2018, home fires have already claimed the lives of seven individuals.
We cannot express enough, the importance of checking your smoke alarms and following NFPA safety guidelines for space heaters .
Go beyond checking your own home- whether its checking their smoke alarms or simply passing along safety information, help your neighbors.

On 12/25/2017 The Deep River Volunteer Fire Department along with their automatic aid responded to a reported structure fire on Pacific Lane. Units arrived on scene to find a Mobile Home well involved with an approximately 2 acre woods fire. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Deep River Fire Dept is starting the junior firefighter program back up.If you have a son or daughter interested and they are 15 to 18 years old or will be 15 in the next week or two please stop by the dept and pick up an application.They would like to get at least 10 applications... If that doesn't happen then the junior firefighter program want happen.If I understand correctly one requirement is that you live within 10 miles of the dept .Please share this statues.They have 5 applications so far and need at least 5 more for this program to be a go.So y'all tell all your deep river friends:)
