GIS Strategic Services will be updating the server that hosts the ArcGIS system on June 19, 2026, resulting in services being temporarily unavailable.

This includes the interactive mapping site that allows viewing of:
• Pictometry
• query parcels
• owners
• water and sewer lines
• zoning
• school boundaries
• districts and more

The downtime is anticipated to occur during business hours on Friday, June 19 and when the upgrade is complete, services will be back online with no additional steps needed from users.

Any questions related to ArcGIS may be directed to the GIS Strategic Services department by calling 919-718-4663.

The Buggy Building parking lot will be closed beginning at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 18 and it will reopen at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, June 22.

Street parking is available and additional parking can be found at the Bob Hales Center (147 McIver Street) and Depot Park (106 Charlotte Avenue).

New changes to SNAP work rules went into effect on December 1. Some people receiving SNAP food assistance will be affected by new changes to the program's work requirements. Adults ages 18-64 are required to participate in approved work activities for at least 80 hours per month unless they qualify for an exemption. Your county Department of Social Services will screen you for all exemptions during your next recertification.

Need help meeting SNAP work requirements? More Than a Job NC offers free job training, education programs, and work opportunities. Ask your caseworker or visit ncdhhs.gov/morethanajob.

Have questions about new SNAP work requirements? Visit ncdhhs.gov/fns for details. Contact your local county DSS: ncdhhs.gov/dss-directory. Ask your caseworker at your next recertification. Your county DSS will screen you for all exemptions.

The side portion of the Buggy Building parking lot, accessible from Chatham Street, will be closed beginning at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, May 22 through Monday, May 25.

The main Buggy Building parking lot will close following the Sanford Farmers' Market on Saturday and will remain closed through Monday, May 25.
