Teaching an NFPA 1850 today for Clay County reminded me why this work matters. Proper gear care, especially cleaning, is one of the strongest defenses firefighters have against occupational illness.

And in the spirit of the fish parable, I aim to teach them how to care for their gear for a lifetime, not just for today.

This one-day, two-part training includes both classroom instruction and hands-on instruction to help your department become certified in developing and maintaining your own NFPA 1850 program. Our goal is to empower your personnel to take an active role in the care and maintenance of their PPE, improving safety and extending the lifespan of gear that keeps them protected on the job.

We proudly serve fire departments across Florida with NFPA 1851-compliant cleaning, inspections, and repairs—helping reduce firefighter cancer risks and other occupational illnesses.

Our services include:
• Advanced cleanings and inspections

• Extractor pump installation and maintenance

With the new NFPA 1850 standard being released soon, we will also be offering training classes to help departments stay compliant with the latest requirements. On September 11, 2001, our nation lost 2,977 lives. Among them were 343 firefighters who ran toward the towers, fully knowing the risks, yet choosing service above self.

In the years since, hundreds more firefighters and first responders have died from cancer and illness caused by their exposures at Ground Zero. Their sacrifice continues, long after that tragic day.

At Florida PPE Services, we exist to support those who carry this legacy of bravery. Every firefighter who puts on their gear deserves protection, care, and respect.

Today, we remember the fallen, honor the survivors, and recommit ourselves to protecting those who protect us.

Never Forget. Always Honor.
