5/22 get letter from irs that tax refund is being confiscated to the tune of $2308 towards arrears, which is basically the amount I have left to pay anyway. Cool 👍

6/22 get letter from child support that my account is delinquent

7/2 finally make it to the courthouse for payment history, no record of tax return payment
Call CSE, they "see the payment but it hasn't been processed to their system" so in order to stop acquiring the weekly late fees, I need to resume my weekly payments of $7 and whatever cents.
I asked what happens when the tax refund gets processed and these payments become extra, and she says they will refund any additionally money, but somehow I'm just not sure I believe them.

So now what? Keep getting a weekly late fee so that the final amount for this to go away is $20-30 more? Or resume paying weekly to possibly not get that back but at least it's less money than that plus the late fees?
Nonsense.

I've had custody for several years now. My son is 19 years old. Our last interaction was I think 2015 sometime when my mother tried to take me to court to increase my arrears payment ($7.57/week) since ongoing support was discontinued. Her request was denied.
This picture is the last balance I can find in my records, from June 2013. The balance at that time was $3,658
I have been paying $7.57/week for the last five years. That's $393.64/year. After five years that is $1,968.

If you take the balance five years ago of $3.658 and you are left with $1,968.

Yesterday I went to the clerk of courts to check my balance because I hadn't in years, and the balance is currently $3,432.

So HOW exactly do I owe $3,432 at this point in time. How? Now I'm going to have to go to the clerk again and pay for a full printout of my payment history to figure out what's going on.

My husband recently discovered that the child he has been raising for almost six years is not biologically his, following DNA testing. As the Mother had always maintained that he was the father, he has been paying maintenance through the CSA for five years. He has no legal right to a refund.

I forgot to update.
After getting sole legal custody and full financial responsibility in February 2015, I fought off an attempt by the Department of Revenue to suspende my license for "nonpayment" a mere 7 days after I was granted custody.
Today, I go to court for arrears (all from 2009 or prior) despite not having missed a payment in at least five years, so that my son's ex guardian (my biological mother) can ask to increase my arrears amount WHILE I am fully responsible and spending a small fortune on the child in question between medical, extracurriculars, and food (teen boys eat a LOT, LOL) and I have other children to take care of (she has no more dependents in her home)

Court is at 2pm EST. I'll update on how it went when I get back.

I am a 30 year old father of two wonderful children. I’ve been married for 8 years, but now I’m going through a bad divorce. I came out to my family as a gay man 3 years ago. Being gay was something I had struggled with for most of my life. Growing up "gay" wasn’t something I was around or somet...
