Effective Monday, Dec. 29, the National Weather Service has issued a **🚩🚩RED FLAG WARNING 🚩🚩** for some North Carolina counties. Review weather alerts for North Carolina at weather.gov.

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity and warm temperatures will create dangerous fire behavior.

Fire danger will be elevated, especially across central North Carolina. While open burning is permitted during a red flag, it is NOT advised. Please postpone all outdoor burning.

Careless debris burning is the leading cause of wildfires in North Carolina, and you are our best defense against wildfire. For wildfire readiness and prevention tips: preventwildfirenc.org

🚒 Celebrating the Push-In of Engine 25 🚒

We honor a proud tradition in the fire service — the Push-In Ceremony — as we welcome Engine 25 into service.

The origins of this tradition date back to the 1800s, when fire departments used hand-drawn or horse-drawn fire apparatus. After returning from a call, firefighters would unhitch the horses and physically push the equipment back into the station. This act became a symbol of teamwork, pride, and readiness.

Though our equipment has evolved, the spirit of that tradition lives on. By pushing Engine 25 into its new home, we not only celebrate cutting-edge technology and enhanced service capabilities — we also reaffirm our commitment to community, camaraderie, and the enduring legacy of the fire service.

Here’s to Engine 25 — may it serve with strength, safety, and honor. 🔥🚨

We’re also proud to announce that Truck 210 is officially in service and ready to respond a to multitude of emergencies throughout Tramway.

Thank you Atlantic Coast Fire Trucks and Car Cosmotology

🙏 Thank You, Lee County! 🙏

On behalf of our entire department, we extend our deepest gratitude to the residents of Lee County for your unwavering support, trust, and dedication. Because of your commitment to public safety and community well-being, we are proud to welcome Engine 25 and Truck 210 into service.

**STATEWIDE BURN BAN LIFTED EFFECTIVE 8 A.M. WEDNESDAY, APRIL 2**

The N.C. Forest Service has lifted a ban on all open burning effective 8 a.m. Wednesday, April 2. The statewide ban went into effect March 21 due to hazardous forest fire conditions.

The lifting of the burn ban does not apply to fires started within 100 feet of an occupied dwelling. The local fire marshal has authority to issue or lift a burn ban within that 100 feet.

As of 8 a.m. Wednesday, April 2, burn permits are available statewide. Residents can obtain a burn permit from any authorized permitting agent or online at https://apps.ncagr.gov/burnpermits/. All burn permits granted before the statewide burn ban were canceled when the ban became effective. A valid permit must be obtained.

Residents with questions regarding their specific county can contact their local N.C. Forest Service county ranger or county fire marshal’s office. To find contact information for your local NCFS county ranger, visit www.ncforestservice.gov/contacts.

Good evening, Is there any FF instructor in the Harrnett, Chatham, Lee county that would like to teach some night time Firefighter classes??? I would like to hold some night time classes at Tramway Rural Fire Department or if there is enough interest we can make it roaming, I would like to see maybe a class a month (with new hours could take longer) but not on a every night schedule. I'm trying to keep the volunteer in mind that has a family and works a full time job, (established career) in mind. My contact information is 919-353-0981 or email me at [email protected]. If your interested in furthering the future let me know. If you have a problem with the college tell me and I can see if we can resolve it. The volunteer departments need after hours training also, not everybody can do daytime academy training. Again we can move classes around different departments but we still might have to go to the college for skills practices. Please let me know your feelings and let's get our volunteer staff the Training they need!!!!
