The United States Senate Youth Program (USSYP) is now accepting applications from North Carolina students for its statewide selection process through Oct. 4.

The USSYP gives high school juniors and seniors interested in studying history or political science an opportunity to spend a week in Washington, D.C. meeting legislators, cabinet members, Supreme Court justices and officials from federal agencies and the White House.

The program will select two North Carolina students as delegates. Each delegate will receive a $12,500 scholarship and attend a week-long educational program in Washington, D.C. from March 6-13.

Our office will be closed Friday, August 28th as our team participates in staff professional development. This time allows our staff to learn, grow, and strengthen the work we do to support children, families, and our community 💙

Today, we join millions around the world in remembering the incredible life and legacy of Dolly Parton.

While Dolly will forever be remembered for her music, her kindness, generosity, and commitment to children and literacy have created a legacy that will continue for generations. Through Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, she had a simple but powerful dream: to inspire a love of reading by putting books directly into the hands of children.

Here in Lee County, the Partnership for Children & Families has been honored to help carry that dream into our own community by bringing Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library to local children and families. Every book delivered to a child’s mailbox represents a small piece of the extraordinary legacy she created 📖❤️

Dolly showed us what can happen when we invest in children, encourage their dreams, and give them the opportunity to learn and grow.

Her life may have come to an end, but her story is far from over. It will continue every time a child opens a book, every time a family reads together, and every time another little reader discovers the joy of a story.

Thank you, Dolly, for dreaming big enough to include millions of children in that dream 💗

🤱💕 Come see us TODAY at the Breastfeeding Health Fair & Community Baby Shower!

Partnership for Children & Families will be there as a community partner, and we’d love for you to stop by our table and say hello 👋

Our team will be sharing information about the many programs, services, and resources available to children and families in our community. Whether you’re expecting a baby, have little ones at home, or simply want to learn more about the support available to families in Lee County, come talk with us!

The event will also feature breastfeeding and infant safe sleep information, infant first aid sessions, community resources, raffles, and more!

Partnership for Children & Families will be at Back to School Night in Downtown Sanford, and we’re bringing a little extra kindness with us! ✨

Stop by our table at Depot Park and create a Friendship Card to brighten someone’s day💌 Children and families can decorate a card and write an encouraging message. These cards will be delivered to patients at our local hospital and teachers throughout Lee County🫶

Because friendship bracelets are fun… but friendship cards can make someone’s whole day💕✨

While you’re there, be sure to learn more about the programs, resources, and support available through Partnership for Children & Families. Our team will be happy to answer your questions and help connect your family with resources in our community.

READY, SET… CRAWL 🏁👶
The cutest race at the Lee County Fair is almost here 🏆

Partnership for Children & Families is excited to host this year’s Diaper Derby at the Lee County Fair! Bring your little racer and get ready to cheer them on as they crawl their way toward the finish line❤️

📍 Arena Stage – Lee County Fairgrounds

⏰ Registration: 1:00 PM
🏁 Diaper Derby: 1:30 PM

👶 Who can race?
Babies 10 months old or younger who are not yet walking.

🏆 Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd & 3rd Place, and all of our little racers will receive a participation ribbon!

TWO very important details to know before race time:
🚨Two adults may accompany each baby on the race track—one at the starting line and one at the finish line.
🚨Each participant MUST wear a diaper with a waterproof cover.

Tag a parent with a little crawler who needs to join the race 👇
