Kids House Wayne Densch Children's Advocacy Center serves as the single point of contact for child abuse investigations for Seminole County, Florida.

Kids House Wayne Densch Children's Advocacy Center, follows the national model for Children’s Advocacy Centers and brings together all agencies in one child-friendly, centralized location. Our mission is to provide aid to child victims of abuse by providing all necessary services from report and investigation through treatment and prosecution in a child-friendly environment. Each year, nearly 2,000 children visit our center for forensic interviewing and medical examinations, crisis intervention and advocacy, referral and information, mental health therapy and education and prevention services. The organization is designed after a national model for Children’s Advocacy Centers (CAC’s). Kids House is the only place in Seminole County offering these collaborative services under one roof, which is a child-friendly environment. Kids House is privileged to be staffed with the finest professionals dedicated to the philosophy of treating the “whole child” in an abusive situation. As a result, a child is much less likely to be overlooked or to suffer continued abuse.

Child neglect can be difficult to recognize, but knowing the signs can make a difference. 💙

Watch for patterns such as:
• Frequent hunger or lack of adequate food
• Poor hygiene or consistently inappropriate clothing
• Unexplained or untreated medical needs
• Frequent absences from school
• A child regularly being left without appropriate supervision
• A noticeable lack of emotional support, attention, or care

One sign alone doesn’t always mean neglect - but if something doesn’t feel right, don’t ignore it.

We all have a role in keeping children safe. Awareness is the first step toward prevention. Together, we can help ensure every child has the care, support, and protection they deserve.

Child grooming can happen online - and it may be harder to recognize than you think. 🚨

Be aware if a child:
• Becomes unusually secretive about their online activity
• Receives unexpected gifts, money, or gaming credits
• Is communicating with someone they met online, especially an older person
• Suddenly changes their mood or behavior after being online
• Seems anxious, upset, or afraid about messages or notifications
• Withdraws from family or friends
• Uses sexual language or knowledge that seems inappropriate for their age

Talk openly with children about their online experiences and remind them that they can always come to you - without fear of punishment or blame.

Awareness is prevention. Together, we can help keep children safe online. 💙
