Kids House Wayne Densch Children's Advocacy Center, follows the national model for Children’s Advocacy Centers and brings together all agencies in one child-friendly, centralized location. Our mission is to provide aid to child victims of abuse by providing all necessary services from report and investigation through treatment and prosecution in a child-friendly environment. Each year, nearly 2,00

0 children visit our center for forensic interviewing and medical examinations, crisis intervention and advocacy, referral and information, mental health therapy and education and prevention services. The organization is designed after a national model for Children’s Advocacy Centers (CAC’s). Kids House is the only place in Seminole County offering these collaborative services under one roof, which is a child-friendly environment. Kids House is privileged to be staffed with the finest professionals dedicated to the philosophy of treating the “whole child” in an abusive situation. As a result, a child is much less likely to be overlooked or to suffer continued abuse.

Our community is fortunate to have a Children's Advocacy Center like Kids House.

When there is a concern of child abuse, every step matters. Instead of a child having to repeat their story multiple times to different people, children who come to Kids House participate in a single, child-friendly forensic interview conducted by a specially trained professional. This interview can be observed by members of the multidisciplinary team, allowing everyone involved in the investigation to receive the information they need while helping minimize additional trauma to the child.

The graphic below shows how the Children's Advocacy Center model streamlines the process, reduces re-traumatization, and brings all partners together to coordinate care for children and their families.

At Kids House, our goal is simple: help children feel safe, heard, and supported while working together to seek justice and begin the healing process.
