We are excited to announce that author Marie Bostwick will be joining us virtually during our August 18th meeting.

Marie Bostwick is a New York Times and USA Today Bestseller of more than twenty works of contemporary and historical fiction, including her latest novel, The Book Club for Troublesome Women.

We were thrilled to welcome even more special guests to Storytime this summer! We were excited to have All American Dogs, Republic Services Trash, Sanger ISD's Purple Bus, and our local Post Office join us to share what they do and teach our little learners about the important roles they play in our community.

These hands-on experiences gave the children a chance to ask questions, explore, and learn in a way they'll remember for years to come. We're confident these special visits created lasting memories for many of them!

A big thank-you to all of our wonderful guests for taking the time to visit with us. We truly appreciate your willingness to share your work and connect with our young learners. Your enthusiasm helped make this summer's Storytimes extra special!

Our book club selection for August is The Book Club for Troublesome Women by Marie Bostwick.

This book club will be a special one as Marie Bostwick will be joining us for a virtual author visit!

Copies of the book can be found in the library and on the Libby app. You've still got time to start reading before our meeting on Tuesday, August 18th at 6:30 PM at Sanger Public Library. ☀️📚 Summer Reading 2026 was AMAZING! 📚☀️

Our staff spent some time this morning checking numbers, drawing grand prize winners, and looking back on an incredible summer—and we discovered something BIG:

🎉 This was our biggest Summer Reading EVER! 🎉

Here’s a look at what we accomplished together:

📖 58 programs held throughout June and July
👥 2,373 program attendees
📚 518 participants registered for Summer Reading
🎟️ 4,407 grand prize tickets earned and entered!

And we saw some especially exciting growth among our youngest readers! Our 0–5 age group nearly doubled from last year, while our 6–11 age group doubled! ❤️

Participants earned grand prize tickets by reaching reading goals and attending programs. Everyone was excited for the chance to win one of 13 different grand prize packages, and this morning we drew the winners! Winners have been called, and we will announce names once they have picked up their prizes. (Big thanks to the Heard Natural Science Museum & Wildlife Sanctuary for their ticket donation.)

A HUGE thank you to everyone who participated, attended programs, read books, encouraged young readers, and helped make Summer Reading 2026 such a success. 💙

We wrapped up our Summer Reading Program with the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History's Mobile Noble Planetarium and a sweet treat from Kona Ice! Families embarked on an unforgettable journey through the stars, learning about the Sun, Moon, stars, and constellations during an immersive planetarium experience.

After the show, everyone gathered to cool off with snow cones from Kona Ice. Tiger's Blood was a crowd favorite, while the most adventurous guests sampled every flavor at once!

A special thank-you to Sanger ISD for allowing us to use the Indian Gym to set up the planetarium. We truly appreciate your partnership and support in making this event possible!

"This is Godzilla's world. We're just living in it." - Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019)

We had a SMASHING good time celebrating Godzilla Day. Participants were surprised with an entire city complete with tanks, cars and buildings. We took turns knocking down the city and stomping like Godzilla! Once we were done destroying the city, we created our own kaiju monsters.

Our August movie is The Lego Batman Movie!
In this movie, Lego Batman discovers big changes are brewing in Gotham. If he wants to save the city from the Joker's hostile takeover, Batman may have to drop the lone vigilante thing, try to work with others, and maybe learn to lighten up.
We'll have fresh popcorn for everyone. Feel free to bring your own snack and drinks.
This event is Free and open to the public. No registration required.

Once again, Brett Roberts delivered a fantastic program! Everyone enjoyed traveling back in time with his Institute of Future Technology, where they came face-to-face with a Tyrannosaurus rex, a Pterodactyl, and a baby Apatosaurus while learning fascinating facts about dinosaurs. With puppets, magic tricks, and plenty of laughs, Brett guaranteed an entertaining and educational experience for all.
