Alongside fellow members of our Sanibel community, Chief Barbot, FF A***n Moore, and FF Rob Bell will climb 104 stories inside One World Trade Center in honor of the firefighters, law enforcement officers, military members, and civilians who lost their lives on September 11, 2001. This powerful event serves as a reminder of the courage, sacrifice, and commitment demonstrated by those who answered the call that day.

The Tunnel to Towers Foundation continues to support the families of fallen first responders and military service members, as well as catastrophically injured veterans and first responders through its many programs. (Tunnel to Towers Climb)

We are incredibly proud of Chief Barbot, FF Moore, and FF Bell for representing our fire district and our island community in this meaningful event. Please join us in wishing them and the entire team, success as they honor our nation’s heroes and help raise funds for an outstanding cause.

🇺🇸 Today, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country. Memorial Day is more than a holiday, it is a time to reflect on the courage, selflessness, and dedication of those who gave their lives defending the freedoms we enjoy every day.

We proudly stand in remembrance of our fallen heroes and extend our deepest gratitude to all military members, veterans, and their families.

May we never forget those who gave everything for our nation.

🇺🇸 Honor. Courage. Sacrifice. 🇺🇸

Over the last week, crews from the Sanibel Fire District had the opportunity to train in an acquired structure on Captiva alongside Captiva Fire Department personnel. These types of real-world training environments are invaluable in helping our firefighters build and maintain critical skills that directly translate to emergency operations. During the week, crews trained on small company tactics, roof operations, forcible entry, hose management, search and rescue, and victim removal.

Working in acquired structures allows our firefighters to operate in realistic conditions that cannot be fully duplicated on a traditional training ground. This type of training strengthens communication, situational awareness, and overall operational readiness while continuing to build strong working relationships with our neighboring agencies.

We would like to thank Captiva Fire for the opportunity to train together and continue strengthening our partnership through hands-on training and collaboration. Training never stops.

As EMS Week comes to a close, we want to take a moment to recognize and thank all of the incredible EMTs and Paramedics who serve our community each and every day. Your compassion, professionalism, dedication, and commitment to patient care do not go unnoticed.

We are also extremely grateful for the strong partnership we share working alongside the EMTs and Paramedics of all the agencies across Lee County. Together, through teamwork and a shared mission, we continue to provide the highest level of care to those who need us most.

The District had a blast taking part in this year’s “Purses for Pooches & Purrs” event benefitting ARC! Our crew helped show off some of the auction items, modeled a few purses far outside our normal gear assignment, and maybe discovered a few hidden runway talents along the way. Most importantly, it was all for a great cause supporting animals in need across Southwest Florida. 🐾🚒👜

Sanibel Fire & Rescue was proud to take part in this annual community tradition alongside so many great local organizations and families. From the parade lap around the field to connecting with residents and visitors, it was an awesome evening at the ballpark.

Thank you to the Sanibel Captiva Chamber of Commerce for continuing to host such a fun, family-friendly event each year and for everything you do to support our island!

We appreciate everyone who came out to enjoy the night with us. See you next year! 🚒⚾️
