🎹 Save the Date: Harmony for Healing

On September 25, we’re bringing our community together for the 7th Annual Concert Under the Stars, an evening of dueling pianos, connection, and purpose in support of Olive Crest’s PROMiSE® program.

PROMiSE serves youth who have been impacted by or are at risk of s*xual exploitation, walking alongside them with the support, relationships, and resources they need to find safety, stability, and hope.

This year, we’re grateful to welcome Lily Couts as our guest speaker. Lily is a survivor advocate and former foster youth whose own lived experience has shaped her commitment to advocating for young people and helping prevent exploitation.

Every ticket, every table, and every person who joins us helps make this work possible. We hope you’ll be part of this special evening and stand with us as we continue building strong families and safe kids... One Life at a Time.®

💕 Sometimes a community comes together at exactly the right moment…

This past weekend, a single mother and her young child with special needs were facing an incredibly difficult situation. After experiencing temporary housing, shelter stays, and nights spent sleeping in their vehicle, they were trying to navigate yet another challenging weekend with limited resources and no clear path forward.

When it became apparent that they would not have a safe and cool place to stay for the night, Olive Crest stepped in. Through our Care Fund and the generosity of community partners, two nights at a motel were secured for them to provide immediate relief.

👉 But the support didn’t stop there...

Two host families and two local churches came together to provide $300 in gas cards, helping this family travel safely to their next destination and manage important upcoming obligations.

This mom told us: “All the support from you all and those I haven’t even met, it means more to me than you’ll ever know.”

Moments like these remind us that when people come together with compassion and generosity, hope becomes possible 💚

❤️‍🩹 Last week, we shared the heartbreaking reality of child s*xual exploitation and the urgent need to protect vulnerable youth. Today, we’re sharing the solution…

Through PROMiSE® (Prevention and Restoration of Minors impacted by Sexual Exploitation), Olive Crest is creating a coordinated response to help prevent exploitation, intervene during crisis, and restore hope for children who have been trafficked.

Our initiative includes five key components:
✨ Drop-In Centers providing immediate access to meals, clothing, counseling, educational resources, and a safe place to land.

✨ Rapid Response Teams available 24/7 to provide crisis intervention and family support when it’s needed most.

✨ Teen & Young Adult Housing that offers safe, supportive living environments where youth can build confidence and independence.

✨ Trained Host Families who provide stable, nurturing homes where healing can begin.

✨ Residential Homes, including our Hope Refuge Campus in Santa Barbara, offering intensive trauma-informed care and restoration.

Real change is possible when prevention, intervention, and restoration work together.

Approximately 325,000 children are commercially s*xually exploited each year in the United States, and the average victim is just 12-14 years old.

Of the 4,000 children and families Olive Crest serves every day:
• 10% have been entrapped into human s*x trafficking
• More than 50% have been approached by traffickers
• 100% are considered high-risk targets

The need is urgent. Human s*x trafficking is one of the fastest-growing criminal enterprises in the world. Nearly 75% of domestic s*x trafficking victims have been in foster care. An estimated 1 in 7 endangered runaways are likely trafficking victims.

That's why Olive Crest launched PROMiSE® (Prevention and Restoration of Minors impacted by Sexual Exploitation), a comprehensive initiative that includes:

🎬✨ What a SUPER night! Last week, we hosted our 3rd Annual Cerritos Baptist Back-to-School Movie Night, and it was packed with smiles, fun, and community support.

Families and youth enjoyed a special screening of The Super Mario Bros. Movie while making memories together before heading back to school 🍄⭐

A huge THANK YOU to In-N-Out Burger for generously donating 360 burgers at no cost for the children and families we serve ❤️🍔

🙏 We are also incredibly grateful to Ticket to Dream Foundation and their partnership with Happy Nation by Victoria’s Secret for providing brand-new clothing to the young women in our program.

From delicious burgers to amazing gifts and a fun-filled movie night, it was truly an evening powered by kindness and community. Thank you to everyone who helped make this event so special!

Creating Joyful Summer Memories ✨ This summer, some of our amazing Olive Crest kids, along with a few dedicated staff members, attended Royal Family Kids Camp (For The Children), a special camp designed for children in foster care ages 7-11 who have experienced relational trauma.

Throughout the week, our kids had the opportunity to simply be kids. From swimming and fishing to arts & crafts, games, a talent show, and even a birthday celebration, every moment was filled with fun, connection, and encouragement ☀️🎣🎨🎉

These experiences help build resilience, strengthen self-esteem, and create positive memories that can last a lifetime. Most importantly, our children were surrounded by caring adults who reminded them that they are valued, supported, and deeply loved.

We’re so grateful for opportunities like RFKC that bring hope, healing, and happiness to the children we serve.

🫶 When Hope Came Home… When Frances first came to Olive Crest, she was preparing to age out of the child welfare system and step into adulthood. Through our Young Adult Independent Living Program, she found the support and encouragement she needed to build a stable future.

👉 Then life took an unexpected turn.

At just 24 years old, Frances learned that her 12-year-old sister had been left in her care. Overnight, she became the only stable adult her sister could depend on.

Unsure where to turn, Frances reached back out to Olive Crest.
Our team helped her navigate the foster care process, welcomed her back into our program, and surrounded both sisters with resources, guidance, and encouragement.
Today, Frances isn’t just building a brighter future for herself. She’s creating one for her younger sister, too 🌟

Her story reminds us that healing can come full circle. With the right support, a young woman who once needed a safe place became the caregiver her sister needed most 💕
