Cooperative Campaigns is proud to announce our Safe and Vibrant Santa Ana slate for the 2024 general election!
We’re proud to support candidates who:

• Work to make Santa Ana a safe and vibrant city that provides economic opportunity, jobs, quality education, and housing security for all of its residents, regardless of immigration status.

• Prioritize the needs of the people over special interests.

• Is committed to ensuring that our local government engages meaningfully with all of its residents and remains accountable and transparent in its civic, social, and economic decisions.

• Fully supports keeping Rent Control in Santa Ana and strengthening our democracy by expanding the right to vote to
ALL residents!

Special interests have already funneled tens of thousands of dollars into this election for their candidates. Our candidates run truly people-powered campaigns and don’t take any special interest money because they’re accountable to the community.

Join the movement for a fair, transparent, and accountable local government! Sign up to canvass, phone bank, or donate TODAY to their campaigns 🙌🏼

Today, we came out to talk to Santa Ana Ward 3 residents to VOTE NO on the Recall against . The Police Officers Association and the CA Apartment Association have put more than $600,000 into this recall because Jessie voted yes on policies like rent control that benefit working families and residents.

Stop the recall of Santa Ana council member Jessie Lopez! Come volunteer with us on May 13th, 10am at Mabury Park in Santa Ana to canvass Ward 3. Sign up link in bio.

This recall attempt is financially backed by the Santa Ana Police Officers Association (POA) and POA President Gerry Serrano who hates that the progressive-majority council, including Jessie, has passed landmark local policy over the last two years to improve the lives of residents, as opposed to lining the pockets of a few. This recall is backlash from the greedy and corrupt few who are against rent control, police accountability, and elected representatives who choose to value the community over profit.

We need all the help we can get to stop this recall! Join us!

We're proud to stand with candidates who ran community-centered campaigns backed by grassroots, small-dollar donors & volunteers, and took on opponents who were backed by hundreds of thousands in special interest money. Thank you Sal Tinajero, Manny Escamilla and Amalia Mejia! You inspired us and many residents in the city with your campaigns and we are proud to have stood with you in this election cycle. We know you will continue advocating for all Santa Ana residents and look forward to continue this progressive movement with you.

Congratulations to our new OC Board of Supervisor-elect Vicente Sarmiento; Santa Ana City Councilmember-elect, Benjamin Vazquez; and SAUSD Board Trustee-elect, Katelyn Brazer Aceves. Each of these campaigns were community-centered and community-driven, backed by grassroots small-dollar donors and volunteers, from young people to seniors.

The tide is turning toward a brighter, more inclusive county where our government is proactive in ensuring that young people, working class residents, and immigrants and refugees can remain here and thrive.

These victories are no small feat. They were only possible because everyday people walked countless hours to knock on doors, make calls, donated, and inspired their friends and families to vote for them. We are proud to support candidates who have long track records of fighting for working families and young people, and who we know will remain committed to a platform for progressive change. We look forward to working with them and our communities to make Santa Ana and the county an even more safe and vibrant place to live!

‼️ Santa Ana: Follow The Money 💰‼️

The CA Apartment Association has dropped more than $70,000 in this election to push for a cabal of candidates that will dismantle rent control and tenant protections community fought for. The total amount they spent as of Oct 27 is $71,360.17, and there’s still two weeks left of the election.

This is the same special interest organization that fundraised over $600,000 (and spent $200,000) in 2021 to try to repeal the city's rent stabilization ordinance. And of course, as councilmembers, Mendoza, Bacerra, and Penaloza voted no on the rent stabilization and just cause evictions ordinances in 2021. But our community won and defended rent control.

Don’t let the CAA buy the election! Say NO to these candidates! Say No to the CAA and those who are anti-rent control.
