The son of Mexican immigrants in search of the American dream, David Penaloza was born and raised in Santa Ana, CA. At a very young age, David lost his father Ublester in a car accident, leaving his mother Paula with three young boys, and brand new mortgage to take care of all on her own. Aside from keeping the lights and water on, she worried that without a father figure, her kids will be unatten
ded to, and end up in gangs, possibly dropout of school, and lose their home. Well, with her tenacity, faith, and impeccable work ethic, she put her kids through grade school and college, and managed to pay off her mortgage eight years early. David is a product of the Santa Ana Unified School District, having attended Washington Elementary (1999), MacArthur Fundamental (2002), and graduating from Saddleback High School in 2006. While in high school, he had his first job working in Downtown Santa Ana at his aunt's business on La calle Cuatro (4th Street), Mina Bridal Boutique. There his aunt and uncle reaffirmed what his mother instilled in him as a child, that through hard work and determination, fulfilling your dreams is possible. He went on to work at various places throughout Orange County including Main Place Mall, and Disneyland. David graduated from California State University, Los Angeles in 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with an emphasis in writing. While attending college in LA he also went through The Groundlings School of Improv and pursued his passion for acting. Being represented by talent agents, and going on hundreds of auditions, he booked multiple National commercials and campaigns for both the English and Spanish markets. These included commercials for Toyota, Wells Fargo, American Idol, as well as local industrial commercials and various media for Taco Bell, Major League Soccer, UEI College, and Irvine Valley College. David is currently a SAG-AFTRAmj member and still actively auditions til this day. While there, he was a key player in getting both sister companies accredited to International Standards Organization (ISO). He's also been exposed to, and has worked in several different departments throughout the company and is currently a Senior Regulatory Engineer. David enjoys volunteering his free time to mentoring students at his Alma Mater, being a panelist during their Senior Exit Interviews, and participating in improv exercises at Leadership conferences held for kids. David's perfect down time is spent by going for a run along our local beaches with his dog Jax, checking out the local breweries for some craft beer, cheering on the Anaheim Ducks, and briefly turning his friends into enemies over a good old game of UNO.
