Getting started shooting performance videos in Nashville with the Sony A7RII at The Listening Room Cafe Saturday Brunch. Shot in 4K and in 1080 (on the A6000) then downsized to 720p for this test. Alex Seier didn't have any stage light on him so his gopro footage was grainy and useless while the Sony footage was creamy and smooth. For audio I used the Sony XLR-K2M which has a mono shotgun mic so to get stereo I duplicated the left track to the right. This week I'll use a stereo mic which will pick up more room noise so I'll try and get a feed from the FOH board and mix in post.

Inland Empire Filmmaking Leadership Summit

http://www.meetup.com/Independent-Filmmakers-of-the-Inland-Empire-Meetup-Group/events/223221060/

In an effort to unite the filmmaking efforts in the Inland Empire, I am proposing a leadership summit.

The purpose of this summit is to organize help and cooperation amongst the various groups involved in forwarding filmmaking in the Inland Empire and those groups involved in improving films created in the Inland Empire.

I am asking the leaders of groups related to filmmaking, that exist in the Inland Empire to come together and discuss: goals, activities and challenges that we are each creating and facing.

Specifically, I want to invite producers and sponsors of the 48HFP-IE (past and present), board members of Slate, Inc., film related meetup organizers, studio owners, teachers and administrators of film, TV and video classes (RCC, CSSB, ), acting school teachers and owners, casting agents, owners of film and video related companies, and the Inland Empire Film Commission.

Additionally, I would like your help in identifying other members of this community that should attend. Please spread the word.

As IFIE closes in on our 6th anniversary, I would really like to step up our efforts toward our own purpose: "...to unite like-minded individuals who enjoy filmmaking or some aspect of it. The plan is to provide A) comradery, B) education and C) support to the local filmmaking community."

The festival took a few years off, but will return to Temecula in September. And organizers are hoping that they can get a few volunteers to help put on the best show possible.
