Last month, the Bike-X & Helmets event brought our community together for a wheel-y good time! 🚲 From safety tips to helmet education and plenty of fun along the way, riders of all ages helped show that staying safe on two wheels can be exciting too.

A big thank you to our partners in Mission Viejo, Lake Forest, and Rancho Santa Margarita, and to everyone who joined us.

Remember, the coolest thing you can wear on a bike is a helmet!😎

We are very proud of Deputy Borrit-Hansen from the Behavioral Health Bureau for being named the Health Care Agency’s First Responder of the Year!

Through his calm and compassionate approach, Deputy Borrit-Hansen has helped to safely de-escalate highly volatile situations involving individuals experiencing mental health crises. Through his work, he creates safer outcomes for everyone involved while ensuring those in crisis are treated with dignity and respect.

This recognition reflects the very best of service-oriented policing and the dedication our deputies bring to protecting and caring for Orange County every day.

Last week, members of our department traveled to Washington, D.C. to attend the National Peace Officers’ Memorial and Candlelight Vigil, honoring the courage and sacrifice of fallen law enforcement officers.

Alongside agencies from across the nation and the families of the fallen, we listened as the names of the 363 officers being added to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial were read aloud. Each name represents a life of service, sacrifice, and a legacy that will never be forgotten.

While Police Week is a solemn reminder of the risks of this profession, it also reaffirms our commitment to honor the fallen.
