Republicans are spending thousands in PAC money to boost Maribel Aguilera's campaign for 5th District Supervisor. Oil executives. Corporate ag companies. Pro-ICE politicians. Developers.

That's who's bankrolling her campaign.

When special interests are this invested in a candidate, you have to ask: who will she actually work for?

Ricardo Valencia is the candidate who will fight for working families, not the corporations writing checks to his opponent.

One week out from June 2nd, and Democrats are underperforming badly.

We're 46% of the electorate in Santa Barbara County, but only 39% of ballots returned so far. Republicans are 25% of the electorate and already 41% of returns. That's a 20-point overperformance.

Local races are on the line. Board of Supervisors. Auditor-Controller. Clerk-Recorder-Assessor. These matter.

[OFFICIAL STATEMENT] The Santa Barbara County Democratic Party condemns the racist AI-generated attack ad paid for by the Santa Barbara County Republican Party targeting Ricardo Valencia.

Let's be clear about something:
This is not politics. This is a racist caricature that demeans candidates of color and disrespects the communities of Santa Maria and Guadalupe.

The Santa Barbara County Republican Party owns this. It is disgraceful, and our community deserves better.

We call on all elected officials (regardless of party) to denounce these attempts to divide our community.
