As March comes to a close, we still have a space for people to navigate housing and feel cared for and respected. FARO remains open, and we remain dedicated to the work and the people who need it most. Learn what SB ACT has been up to these past few months and how we are showing up for our community in our March newsletter. 1,700 people have been served at the FARO Center and 200 housed since it's opening. These are not just numbers, these are lives changed for the better. See the entire newsletter and our previous ones at sbact.org/news

Human Trafficking is happening right here in our own backyard—hidden in plain sight.

We invite you to an evening of reflection, hope, and community action at our “Rally for Survivors”. Join the SB County Human Trafficking Task Force, Kingdom Causes, and more as we take a stand for change for those who have survived human and labor trafficking.

Survivors of human trafficking matter... and it’s crucial that we fight to change our legal system’s understanding of trafficking issues so that survivors receive the care and support they need.

Our community is stronger when we look out for the vulnerable. RSVP at safesbc.org/getinvolved

On January 11, our staff wears blue for National Human Trafficking Awareness Day. Human trafficking isn’t just something that happens "somewhere else"—it affects our neighbors right here in Santa Barbara. But awareness is the first step toward prevention. By wearing blue, we stand in solidarity with survivors and commit to a future where everyone is safe and free. This Sunday, stand with survivors and wear blue with us.

Ready to make a difference with us? Visit www.safesbc.org/getinvolved to learn how you can help us spot the signs and support local survivors.

This year asked a lot of all of us, and we couldn’t have made it through without every single one of you. As we celebrated together at our staff and board holiday party last week, we celebrated the people behind the work. But we couldn’t do any of this without you. We want to extend our deepest thanks to our supporters, donors, volunteers, and everyone who makes this work possible. Your belief in us and our mission carried us through a challenging year. From our SB ACT family to yours—happy holidays!

You are invited to join us for the Longest Night Memorial for those who passed away while experiencing homelessness.

December 21st, the longest night of the year, is remembered annually as Homeless Persons’ Memorial Day, a time when we remember the people who lost their lives while experiencing homelessness.

Please join SB ACT for an interfaith vigil on Sunday, Dec. 21 at 5:15 PM to commemorate those who lost their lives experiencing homelessness in Santa Barbara County. We will meet in front of the County Courthouse under the arch, on Anacapa Street.

For more information, and to RSVP visit www.sbact.org/longestnight

We are so grateful to share SB ACT’s 2024–2025 Annual Report with you. This was a year that asked a lot of us, and one that reminded me again of the strength of our community.

We navigated real uncertainty together this spring when the FARO Center shifted to a month-to-month agreement. Even in the midst of change, our team, partners, donors, volunteers, and YOU, continued to show up with compassion and determination. Your support ensured FARO could remain a lifeline for hundreds of neighbors seeking stability, care, and hope.

Because of you, SB ACT helped 1,340 neighbors connect to essential services, supported 121 people into permanent or interim housing, and enrolled 164 individuals in housing programs.

These numbers tell part of the story — but, as always, what means most to me is the collective effort behind them. In a world where hope is threatened daily, these are the stories that reignite us to imagine a different future and fight for that vision. It is your trust, generosity, and belief in this future that makes everything possible.

Thank you for standing with us. I hope you’ll take a moment to read the report and see the impact we created together. Go to www.sbact.org/news to read the full report!
