Fewer than 10% of childcare programs in the country earn accreditation from NAEYC — the National Association for the Education of Young Children. Their standards go far beyond the classroom, covering curriculum, teacher qualifications, family partnerships, and a formal code of ethics for every decision made in a child's interest. 💛

St. Vincent's holds it across three program areas. Not because the state requires it. Because we believe the first five years of a child's life are the foundation for everything — for that child, their family, and the community we all share.

We're deeply grateful to the St. Francis Foundation of Santa Barbara for their generous grant supporting the Fr. Virgil Cordano Center. This funding helps us provide a place of welcome, dignity, and hope for our neighbors experiencing homelessness—every single day.

Thank you to Tina Frontado and the St. Francis Foundation for your commitment to healing across our community, and to Farmers & Merchants Bank for hosting such a special celebration at the gorgeous Santa Barbara Polo & Racquet Club.

It was wonderful spending time with so many partner organizations across the county. Together, we're making a difference. 💙

In today's reflection on St. Vincent's history, we celebrate the decades of impact at St. Vincent's School (1936-1985)! For generations, this institution, guided by the Daughters of Charity, provided more than just care – it offered a foundation for growth and hope to children with developmental disabilities. The Daughters' dedication, boundless love, and compassionate care empowered countless young lives to thrive.
