The Santa Barbara County Association of Governments is a regional planning agency comprised of Santa Barbara County and all eight incorporated cities within the county. 📢 Contracting Opportunities Available

SBCAG has released two Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and is seeking qualified firms to support regional transportation initiatives in Santa Barbara County.

🚧 Highway 101 Construction Communications Services
Provide public information, outreach and communications support for the Highway 101: Carpinteria to Santa Barbara Project as it advances through final construction.
Proposals due 5 p.m. on June 26, 2026

🚌 North County Transit Study
Prepare a comprehensive study to evaluate opportunities to improve transit service, strengthen coordination among providers, enhance the rider experience and identify future funding and operational needs.
Proposals due 5 p.m. on July 7, 2026

Both RFPs are available through SBCAG’s Procurement Portal. Please share these opportunities with qualified transportation planning, transit, public outreach and communications firms.

Meet us, MOVE Santa Barbara County, BikeMaps.org, and Isla Vista Community Services District - IVCSD at the finish line — Goleta Beach at 2 p.m. — for one more ride, tacos, and the closing ceremony.

National Bike Month is almost over — and CycleMAYnia is ending with one final celebration featuring tacos, a bike ride, and awards. Join us at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 31 at Goleta Beach for a community ride through UC Santa Barbara, Isla Vista, and back to Goleta Beach. At 3 p.m. we’ll announce the winner of the AIMA Big Sur e-bike donated by E-Bikery and recognize the SmartRide Gold and Platinum Challenge champions. Bring your team spirit and help celebrate a month of biking across Santa Barbara County.

Ride for about an hour mostly on bike paths and eat ice cream!

Santa Maria Elks “Bike” Parade

There’s still time to join the CycleMAYnia Bike Challenge! Create a team or rally your coworkers to compete for the Gold or Platinum Challenge titles. Right now, Structurally Sound UCSB is setting the pace in the Gold Challenge, while Cottage Health currently leads the Platinum Challenge — but there’s still time for teams to climb the leaderboard before winners are announced at the CycleMAYnia Finale on May 31! Log your trips on SmartRide.org to compete.

If biking isn’t your forte, taking transit provides similar traffic congestion and air pollution reductions. By logging your May bus trips on SmartRide.org, you can enter to win a free monthly bus pass.
