Standing Together to End Sexual Assault - STESA All of our services are available in both English and Spanish. VISION STATEMENT:
Create a community free from all forms of sexual violence.

STESA is a private, non-profit agency that has been providing services to adolescent (ages 13+) and adult survivors of sexual assault, their families and friends since 1974. PHILOSOPHY STATEMENT:
As feminist women and men, we believe:

• Sexual assault is rooted in society’s assumption that one segment of society needs to dominate and control another.

• Sexual assault is perpetuated by instituti

onalized male domination as well as sanctioned discrimination, including racism, classism, sexism, ageism, heterosexism and ableism as a means of oppressing women.

• Sexual assault, exploitation, and discrimination are unacceptable and destructive to individuals and society. We are committed to ending these forms of oppression within our community and our society through empowerment in education and healing. STESA acknowledges the political analysis and achievements of the feminist women who initially worked for societal changes. Our work is a continuation of their efforts. The above philosophy is the foundation for existing programs and services.

Last week, STESA was honored to attend The Fund for Santa Barbara’s Grant Awards Celebration in Solvang, where we were recognized as a recipient of the Movement Building Grant for our work with the Raise the Bar initiative. We are so grateful to our community partners at The Fund for Santa Barbara and the UCSB A.S. PARDALL CENTER who have been so instrumental in supporting our collective effort to promote a culture of safety in Santa Barbara. This funding will empower us to expand our impact and strengthen our community partnerships, and we can’t wait to see how this initiative continues to grow!

La semana pasada, STESA tuvo el honor de asistir a la celebración de Premios de Subvenciones del Fondo para Santa Bárbara en Solvang, donde fuimos reconocidos como beneficiarios de la Beca de Construcción de Movimiento por nuestro trabajo con la iniciativa Raise the Bar. Estamos muy agradecidos a nuestros socios de la comunidad en The Fund for Santa Barbara y el UCSB A.S. We’re excited to announce that STESA is now in a new location as we continue growing and expanding our support for the community.

Our new space will allow us to better serve clients, while creating more opportunities for healing, advocacy, and connection.

This April, all month long, you can visit the CASA Exhibit to learn about stories from youth in our very own community who are in/have navigated the foster care system.

It was impactful to walk through the stories, it was emotional to read yet inspiring.

STESA is dedicated to supporting our community by collaborating with agencies like CASA to ensure that our services are available for survivors.
