Maravilla Takes a Hike! ⬇️

Our hiking club is at it again. Maravilla residents enjoyed a nice hike and landed at the Santa Barbara Maritime Museum, where they explored the museum’s impressive chalk art displays. With beautiful artwork and plenty of fresh air, it was a wonderful way to spend the day! ⛰️

Less stuff made the biggest difference for Denny. 📦

After downsizing, Denny and Margaret realized he did not need nearly as much as he thought. Less to keep up with, more room to enjoy the people around him, and yes, still plenty of time for Mahjong, even if Margrett does not recommend losing.

Memorial Day felt especially meaningful this year as more than 100 people gathered in our Courtyard to honor those who gave their lives in service to our country!

The program included a special tribute led by U.S. Navy veteran Jack Purl, joined by fellow veterans Sid Krumholz and John Reese. Together, they recognized our centenarian residents whose military service reaches back more than 80 years to World War II.

Their words carried the weight of lived history, honoring sacrifice, duty, and the brothers-in-arms who never came home. We are grateful to everyone who helped make this Memorial Day gathering so thoughtful! 🇺🇸

Carlos Rueda De Leon, our Food Service Director, created a Fallen Soldier Table in honor of Memorial Day, a meaningful tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice. Thank you to Sandi Marotto from Dog House Floral for the beautiful floral arrangement that helped complete this moment of remembrance. 🇺🇸

We had the pleasure of celebrating an extraordinary group with a special luncheon honoring our resident nurses, the dedicated nurses from Central Coast Senior Services, Inc., and our very own Maravilla nurses!

It was a very special opportunity to show our appreciation for their compassion and the many lives they have touched. We were grateful to take time to recognize and celebrate each of them! 💛

Purpose was front and center at our latest Longevity Club gathering! 🤝

Maravilla residents worked alongside the Direct Relief team hands-on, and many shared how much it meant to contribute together. There is already interest in future kit assemblies, special drives, and other ways to keep supporting this mission through direct action.

Longevity Club is all about to more: more purpose, more connection, and more ways to stay engaged in the life around us. Moments like this show how meaningful it can be when residents have the chance to keep giving, helping, and making an impact together! 📦

Maravilla gathered 74 resident volunteers for a luncheon that was all about GRATITUDE 🌟

Each volunteer received a silver starfish charm as a small thank you for the difference they make, whether they serve here in the community or out in the world around us. Their time and willingness to help leave a mark, and we are so grateful for every one of them!

took over Maravilla in the best way! Our culinary team did an outstanding job honoring the occasion with special dishes, and our Assisted Living celebration brought even more to enjoy with a photo booth, sombreros, and even a pop-up Spanish class led by one of our residents!

It was such a festive way to recognize the Battle of Puebla and enjoy the special day together. 🌮
