Mark your calendars for Raíces y Sueños (Roots & Dreams) 2026, an annual series of vibrant, free, family-friendly events celebrating the richness of Hispanic culture. This year’s programming focuses on honoring our culturally diverse roots, sharing our traditions, and creating spaces where people of all backgrounds can learn, engage, and celebrate. Community members of all ages are invited to participate in more than 15 events, including curated art exhibits, a celebration honoring grandparents, a cooking workshop series, musical performances, a special mercado, and so much more! 

Events will be held from September 3 through October 14.

La Biblioteca Pública de Santa Bárbara se enorgullece de presentar Raíces y Sueños 2026, una serie anual de eventos vibrantes, gratuitos y para toda la familia; estos eventos celebran la riqueza de la cultura hispana. La programación de este año se enfoca en honrar nuestras diversas raíces culturales, compartir nuestras tradiciones y crear espacios donde personas de todos los orígenes puedan aprender, participar y celebrar. Invitamos a miembros de la comunidad de todas las edades a participar en más de 15 eventos, que incluyen exposiciones de arte, una celebración en honor a los abuelos, una serie de talleres de cocina, presentaciones musicales, un mercado especial y mucho más.

The Teen Area at Central Library is now home to a C.A.R.E. Station, stocked with free essential hygiene supplies, including period products. Teens are welcome to take what they need and leave what they can, helping support health and dignity for one another.

Thank you to Project C.A.R.E. for making this resource possible!

El área de los adolescentes en la biblioteca Central es el nuevo hogar de la estación de C.A.R.E, lleno de suministros esenciales de higiene, incluso los suministros menstruales. Santa Barbara Public Library is excited to invite the public to join authors Sissy Taran and Tiffany Howard for a discussion and celebration of their book, "We Are Resilient.”

Contributing authors Grace Fisher, Emma Solano, and Andy Gilliland will share how their experiences have shaped their understanding and embodiment of resilience. Book signing and refreshments will follow the talk.

Guests at Central Library can also enjoy an exhibition of Grace Fisher’s artwork in the Faulkner Gallery West throughout August.

The Grace Fisher Foundation is dedicated to enriching the lives of individuals with disabilities through the transformative power of the arts.

La Biblioteca Pública de Santa Bárbara se complace en invitar al público a acompañar a las autoras Sissy Taran y Tiffany Howard en una conversación y celebración de su libro “We Are Resilient (Somos resilientes).”

Las autoras colaboradoras Grace Fisher, Emma Solano y Paula Lopez compartirán cómo sus experiencias han influido en su comprensión y vivencia de la resiliencia. Después de la charla habrá un momento para la firma de libros y se ofrecerán refrigerios.

Todos los asistentes también podrán disfrutar de una exhibición del arte de Grace Fisher en la Galería Lateral Oeste de Faulkner, durante todo el mes de agosto.

La Fundación Grace Fisher se dedica a enriquecer la vida de personas con discapacidades mediante el poder transformador de las artes.
