With the 4th July weekend approaching I wanted to share the town's ordinance on the use of fireworks. Hopefully this will clear up any confusion.

The use of commercial fireworks within the Town of Santa Claus, is prohibited except on the following dates at the following times:

1) Between the hours of 5:00 pm and 11:30 pm from June 29th through July 3rd and July 5th through July 9th

2) Any time on the 4th of July

3) Between the hours of 10:00 am on Dec 31st and 1:00 am on Jan 1st

4) At and on days of special town events, as designated and approved by the Town Council

I wanted to inform the citizens of Santa Claus about a current scam that they may encounter.
You may receive a letter advising you that your home warranty is about to expire, and that you need to take immediate action.
There will be no company name on the letter, but it will have your name and address on it as well as a phone number to call.
The company will have all of the information about the size of your home, how may bedrooms it has, and when it was built. All of this information can be obtained online.
The representative will tell you that you signed up for a home warranty when you built or purchased your home, even up to 30 years ago, but you probably did not and will not remember doing it.
The 3 year renewal amount is $249.00. They will ask you for your bank account or your credit card number.
Do not give them any of you banking or personal information. If you have any questions fell free to contact us at the police dept.

The Santa Claus Police Department is currently accepting applications for the position of Full-Time Police Officer. We are seeking motivated, service-oriented individuals committed to protecting and serving the community of Santa Claus, Indiana.

Position Title: Full-Time Police Officer Location: Santa Claus, Indiana

Responsibilities Include:

Enforcing local, state, and federal laws

Responding to emergency and non-emergency calls for service

Conducting traffic enforcement and accident investigations

Preparing detailed reports and maintaining accurate records

Engaging with the community to promote public safety

Minimum Qualifications:

Must meet all Indiana Law Enforcement Training Board (ILETB) requirements

High school diploma or equivalent (college education preferred)

Valid driver’s license

Ability to pass background check, physical examination, and drug screening

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Application Process:Applications may be obtained in person at:Santa Claus Town Hall

Completed applications must be submitted by Monday, May 11.
