Reasons to serve as your Sheriff:
I am proud of my service and experience with the Indiana State Police and the Warrick County Sheriff’s Office. As Sheriff, I made changes to enhance the deputies’ work environment and their professionalism. I believe having the right equipment is important to officer safety and their ability to properly serve the public. I equipped deputies with cell phones, patrol rifles and in-car computers. As
Spencer County Sheriff, I will bring my years of experience in law enforcement and my leadership to make the Office the best it can be. I have high expectations with respect to how employees serve the public. It is important to me to define the duties and performance expectations of my employees. Employee benefits are a priority to me. I made improvements in Warrick County by working with the Commissioners and Council members to reward dedicated, hard-working employees. I made changes in the Jail to positively affect Jailer and inmate safety and I was also able to save tax dollars on inmate medical / pharmaceutical expenses. I believe the Sheriff should be a very visible and available public servant. Growing up in our family’s business gave me a foundation of providing quality service and a passion for community service. I have emphasized that philosophy throughout my law enforcement career. I have been very active at Crossroads Christian Church, have served on several Boards including the Warrick County Community Corrections, Warrick County Council on Aging, the Community Foundation, the Tristate Auto Mission, as well as being a past member of Kiwanis and currently a member of the Santa Claus Optimist Club. I am a lifetime member of the Warrick County Fraternal Order of Police and the Indiana Sheriffs’ Association.
“My wife and I grew up in Spencer County. We have always considered our time here as going back home and we are very proud of our history and family roots. In 2010, we purchased a home in Christmas Lake Village and the passion to be living and working in Spencer County was rekindled. My career has been blessed with many challenges and opportunities over the years, but none more exciting than this one. The Office of Sheriff is the pinnacle of Law Enforcement and I welcome the chance to share my vision of community involvement, strong enforcement, training/education for employees and the privilege of public service with the citizens of Spencer County.”
