Welcoming Our Fall Intern & Youth Commissioner!

This week, we were excited to welcome two new members to our District 2 team: Youth Commissioner Danna Perez-Garcia and Fall Intern Micol Dann-Black!

Danna is a junior at Pajaro Valley High School and brings her enthusiasm, ideas, and perspective as a young person in our community to the Youth Commission. We’re looking forward to hearing her voice and learning from her throughout the year.

We’re also thrilled to have Micol joining our office this fall and look forward to supporting her as she gains firsthand experience in local government and community service.

Young people have an important role to play in shaping the future of Santa Cruz County, and we’re so glad to have both Danna and Micol!

Our office has met with several community members about the Par 3 - Village on the Green project and we remain committed to keeping our community informed and engaged.

A meeting had been scheduled on Friday for a small group of neighbors who live immediately adjacent to the project. As the meeting has spread more broadly on social media, we recognize that others may be interested in the project and wish to participate.

To make sure everyone has a meaningful opportunity to attend, hear the latest information and ask questions, we are rescheduling this Friday’s meeting at a larger venue where more county staff can participate along with Supervisor De Serpa.

We’ll share the date, time and location as soon as those details are finalized. We appreciate everyone’s interest in this project and look forward to continuing the conversation with the broader community.

Nothing brings a community together quite like National Night Out!

It was a wonderful evening at Pinto Lake County Park serving up nachos, meeting neighbors, and saying hello to both the two-legged and four-legged members of our community. 🧀🌮🐾

Thank you to everyone who came out to spend the evening with us, and to all of our public safety partners, community organizations, and volunteers who helped make the event such a success. Opportunities like this remind us that strong communities are built through connection, conversation, and looking out for one another.
