During this high-risk season, we urge you to avoid foraging for and eating wild mushrooms in all Santa Cruz County Parks.🍄❌

Poisonous Death Cap (Amanita phalloides) and Western Destroying Angel (Amanita ocreata) mushrooms are continuing to grow in California, as the state experiences a record-breaking outbreak of severe illness and deaths linked to people accidentally eating these poisonous wild mushrooms.

Stay safe by avoiding wild mushroom foraging and consumption and keeping an eye on children and pets! Learn more by visiting: go.cdph.ca.gov/PoisonMushrooms
