Interfaith Food Center Feeding the Hungry Since 1983 Interfaith Food Center is a non-faith-based, non-profit 501(c)(3) charity organization.

Our mission is to alleviate hunger by providing compassionate supplemental food services to the hungry, disadvantaged and homeless population of Whittier, La Mirada and Santa Fe Springs. We offer a Food Distribution Program, Homeless Lunch Program, and Emergency Assistance program for residents of Whittier, La Mirada and Santa Fe Springs, California.

Today, we want to extend our deepest gratitude to the incredible volunteers who make the Interfaith Food Center's mission possible. Every bag packed, every smile shared, and every hour donated creates a lasting impact in the lives of our neighbors facing food insecurity and hardship.

Your compassion, dedication, and willingness to serve help provide more than just food. You offer hope, dignity, and stability to families during some of the most difficult times in their lives. Because of you, community members know they are not alone.

One of those community members is Carol, whose story reminds us why this work matters so much:

✨ Carol's Story: A Journey Toward Stability and Hope ✨

"I started coming to IFC at the beginning of COVID when I struggled to find food resources for my family. I learned about IFC at the local city hall. After my husband passed away, I was overwhelmed by depression and anxiety. I became the full-time caregiver for my son, who has autism, and it was impossible for me to find work while meeting his needs.

Today, I'm thankful beyond words. I only receive $310 in pensions every month, and that barely covers the most basic bills like rent and utilities. There's nothing left for groceries. Food is simply not in my budget. Without IFC, I don't know how I would make ends meet. IFC is a true blessing in my life, helping me keep food on the table and hope in my heart.

I see the impact of IFC every single week when I pick up groceries. My son lights up when he sees fresh fruits and vegetables. It makes me feel like I can still provide for him, even when everything feels so uncertain. This program helps so many neighbors, too. People who, like me, have fallen on hard times but still have so much love to give.

I hope IFC will never stop because it doesn't just fill pantries. It keeps families like mine from being on the street and gives us the stability we need to keep moving forward. Thank you, IFC, for being here for us!"

As summer comes to a close, we would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the National Charity League and the many dedicated student volunteers from schools across our community who generously shared their time, energy, and talents with us this summer.

Your willingness to serve, lend a helping hand, and make a positive impact did not go unnoticed. Because of your hard work, enthusiasm, and commitment to giving back, our community is stronger and countless lives have been touched.

To all of the students who balanced summer activities while making time to volunteer, thank you for being outstanding examples of compassion, leadership, and service. You inspire us with your generosity and dedication.

We want to take a moment to extend our sincere gratitude for everything you do. Your dedication, compassion, and commitment make a meaningful difference in our community every day. We truly appreciate the time and energy you invest in supporting our programs and those we serve.

As the summer temperatures continue, please remember to stay hydrated while volunteering. Be sure to drink plenty of water, take breaks when needed, and prioritize your health and well-being. We want everyone to stay safe while continuing the incredible work you do.

We would like to take a moment to recognize and express our appreciation for the missionaries of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Their dedication to serving others, uplifting communities, and sharing messages of hope and faith is truly admirable. These individuals willingly devote their time and energy to helping those around them, often putting the needs of others before their own.

Their consistent example of kindness, humility, and selfless service does not go unnoticed. I am grateful for the positive impact they have on so many lives and for the light they bring into the world.
