Pyramids Around the World

Join us for an educational and cultural experience that connects global history with scientific discovery. This talk introduces audiences to pyramid structures worldwide and, in particular, to the ongoing research at the Bosnian Pyramids, including their archaeological and environmental significance. Attendees will gain fresh insights into history, science, and heritage while engaging in open dialogue.

Presenter Bio

Dr. Sam Osmanagich is a scientist, researcher, author, and the Principal Investigator of the archaeological project in Visoko, Bosnia-Herzegovina, where he discovered the Bosnian Valley of the Pyramids. He holds a PhD in Mayan pyramids and has published 22 books on ancient civilizations, translated into 17 languages. Dr. Osmanagich is founder and director of the “Archaeological Park: Bosnian Pyramid of the Sun” Foundation and has authored multiple peer-reviewed scientific articles on pyramid geometry, energy fields, and ionization phenomena. He has held academic positions, including professor of anthropology and director of the Center for Anthropology at the American University in Bosnia-Herzegovina. A foreign member of several European academies, he is also the recipient of awards including the U.S. Congressional Certificate of Recognition and the Amelia B. Edwards Award. He currently oversees long-term environmental studies at the Bosnian Pyramids, Ravne Tunnel Complex, and manages Park Ravne 2, a multidisciplinary cultural venue.

Día de los Mu***os Celebration on the Plaza

Look for the Library's booth on the Plaza and join us for letter writing to loved ones lost and notes of gratitude to our ancestors.

Santa Fe’s fifth annual Día de los Mu***os will feature festive mariachi music and traditional entertainment on the Santa Fe Bandstand, festooned with papeles picados, the colorful cut paper decorations seen at celebrations throughout Mexico. Signature Mexican foods that have enriched New Mexico’s own cuisine will be available, as well as decorative items that customarily adorn ofrendas that honor those who have passed on. Expect to see brightly colored masks, decorative skulls, and hundreds of marigolds!

Choose colorful materials and arrange individual pieces into a mosaic-inspired jewelry design that reflects your creativity, identity, and personal style.

Beads of Expression with Mvhayv Claybrook

Learn traditional beading techniques with Mvhayv Claybrook (Mvskoke) while exploring how color and pattern can communicate identity and personal expression. Select and arrange beads to create a unique piece of jewelry.

Traditional Mexika ~ Azteca Blessing by Danza Tonantzin de Analco

Aztec dances are a form of prayer and communication that channel energy to the Aztec gods, connecting the earthly plane with the cosmos. The dances have different meanings, but all express respect for nature and the four elements of earth, water, fire, and wind. Every step and turn has deep spiritual meaning, often marking the four cardinal directions and the earth and sky.

All ages are welcome!

This event will take place outdoors near the Library building's front entrance. Limited seating will be available, but all are welcome to bring their own chairs. Please dress for cool weather. Hot beverages will be provided!
