Calling all K–12 students!
The Santa Fe County Clerk’s Office is looking for original sticker designs for the 2026 election.
Submit your circle-shaped design by September 8th for a chance to have it used in the upcoming election—and featured on our website and social media.
Three winning designs will be selected through public Ranked Choice Voting after review by Clerk’s Office staff.

Designs may be submitted as JPG, PNG, PDF, AI, or EPS files.
Open to Santa Fe County K–12 students not directly related to Santa Fe County Clerk’s Office staff.

Santa Fe County Clerk Katharine E. Clark continues to uphold voters’ rights and the secure, reliable administration of absentee and mail voting.
The August 24 U.S. Supreme Court’s stay in Trump v. California is significant, but it did not determine whether the President’s Executive Order or USPS ballot-mail rule is lawful. A separate federal injunction continues to prevent USPS from implementing the challenged ballot-mail provisions for the November 2026 election.
For voters, November plans remain unchanged. You can continue to request an absentee ballot at NMVote.gov. Eligible voters on New Mexico’s permanent absentee voter list will automatically receive a ballot for each statewide election.
The Clerk’s Office will continue providing clear, timely information to help ensure every eligible voter can cast a ballot securely, reliably, and with confidence.

August 25 is an important deadline on New Mexico’s election calendar: it’s the final day for local authorities to submit questions for the November ballot and for candidates to withdraw from a race.

The decisions made by then will help shape the choices Santa Fe County voters see this fall.

Santa Fe County is looking for poll workers to join our experienced election team. Help make elections reliable, accessible, and welcoming for every voter.

All eligible Santa Fe County residents are encouraged to apply. The Clerk’s Office is currently seeking applicants from underrepresented voter affiliations to help meet Election Board staffing needs and maintain balanced party representation.

The absentee ballot portal is now open!
Visit NMVote.gov to check if you’re already signed up for an absentee ballot or request one for this election.

Want the convenience of receiving a ballot for every election? Sign up for the convenience of Permanent Absentee voting when you apply. You'll receive ballots for every NM election going forward, unless you change addresses or don't return ballots in two qualifying elections.

About 13,000 Santa Fe County voters will receive address confirmation postcards this week. Visit NMVote.org to review and update your voter registration, or fill out and return the postcard to make sure your information is up to date.
