Hi, this is your friendly neighborhood NEA Santa Fe Membership Chair, just giving a quick happy report this morning:
I've been traveling to all the SFPS schools and offices, updating bulletin boards and making sure the NEA-SF membership applications are available at every location, and as I traveled around today, (after the Santa Fe School Board met last night), I have been greeted with such joy and hope from the administrative assistants/secretaries.
They got a raise.
NEA Santa Fe worked hard reaching out to secretaries, talking to secretaries, bargaining and hammering out a better deal on secretary salaries, and last night the Santa Fe School Board passed our Collective Bargaining Agreement!
I stopped in at school today, (where I am not assigned to work), and the secretary was so happy when I introduced myself, saying, "we're just thrilled with what you've done". After I finished with the bulletin boards and was walking out, the Principal came out to meet me, shook my hand and asked how soon will this go into effect; and I let her know it passed, so once it's signed by the Superintendent and the final draft, is approved by NEA-SF Bargaining Team, it will go into effect. The Principal asked how soon she'd be able to see her new Collective Bargaining Agreement bound copy? Getting the books into the hands of the people who are most interested may take a little while, but I'm hopeful that the new Collective Bargaining Agreement language will go live on Santa Fe Public Schools website VERY soon.
So if you are a Santa Fe Public School employee, or if you know an employee, or a teacher, or an ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT, or a bus driver, thank them and wish them luck this school year!
2026-2027 Collective Bargaining Agreement
PASSED!
