Starting May 1, New Mexicans receiving food assistance can access free job training, career support, and work experience through the SNAP Employment & Training program, without putting their benefits at risk.

Participants get paired with case managers, build real skills, and work toward stable employment while keeping food on the table.

To enroll, contact your local Income Support Division office or call HCA at 1-800-283-4465 and request to participate in the SNAP E&T program.

SNAP rules changed on January 1, 2026.
Adults ages 18–64 who do not have an exemption must now report 80 activity hours of work, volunteer, or job training programs each month to keep SNAP benefits.
