Even in cartoons, you see the traditional marble— you see traditional stone. The desert landscape provided a different setting, but was sometimes literally incorporated with the headstones—cholla crosses, native plant life planted directly and intentionally onto burial mounds." — JC Gonzo

Don't forget to stop by CENTER this weekend, May 16–18, 11 AM–5 PM (MT), for a special preview of Sống by Ocean Vuong, and the last chance to see Elements of Wonder: When Nature Becomes Art by Jon McCormack.

This preview of Sống, by acclaimed poet, novelist, and essayist Ocean Vuong, coincides with Vuong’s sold-out appearance at the Santa Fe International Literary Festival, and features a selection of work from the full exhibition, which will be on view at CENTER May 29–June 28.

CENTER will remain open this weekend for special preview hours of Sống, a photographic exhibition by acclaimed poet, novelist, and essayist Ocean Vuong. The preview coincides with Vuong’s sold-out appearance at the Santa Fe International Literary Festival.

Known as one of the defining literary voices of his generation, Vuong extends his deeply personal storytelling into photography through images that reflect on grief, family, survival, and belonging.
