Tomorrow is day one of Academy Class 41.

SFFD’s Training Division is committed to producing the most proficient Firefighter EMT’s possible, and for 11 Cadets that journey starts tomorrow. Their training will cover everything needed to ensure they are mentally, physically and emotionally fit for duty as a Santa Fe Firefighter.

If you are a member of class 41 and reading this, now would be a good time to polish your boots, iron your blues, and spend some quality time with your family. Your new journey starts tomorrow at 0600.

Aerial ladder training, City Fire style. 🔥

SFFD has two frontline aerial apparatus covering the city at all times, in addition to the rest of our fleet. These allow for a reach of up to 75’ while also maintaining the same pumping capabilities as a traditional fire truck.

Here our members can be seen practicing ladder maneuvers replicating various fire ground ops such as victim removal and extrication.

The Santa Fe Fire Department would like to congratulate Jennifer Dickey on her promotion to Battalion Chief of Training.

The Training Chief is responsible for a variety of command level functions such as managing fire cadet academies, maintaining all members EMS and Fire continuing education credits, as well as developing department wide fire and medical trainings, just to name a few.

Jennifer brings over 25 years of experience to the job and we know she will excel in this new role.
