The Museum Resources Division (MRD) of NM Department of Cultural Affairs (NMDCA) is excited to announce the addition of two new team members to its Exhibit Services Bureau staff.

Lila Pickus has been named Head of Exhibit Services for the Museum Resources Division. Lila is an architectural designer and project manager with experience in public, private, and non-profit sectors. She has served as an exhibition designer with the Museum Resources Division since 2022, after working as an exhibition designer for Meow Wolf and a project manager for JenkinsGavin development management firm.

“New Mexico’s museums are an incredible asset to locals and visitors, and I am grateful to work in support of their collective mission,” said Lila. “I am excited for this opportunity, as Head of Exhibit Services, to continue advocating for the highest quality exhibits and for the people who bring them to life.”

Lila holds a Master of Design in Interior Architecture, Adaptive Reuse from the Rhode Island School of Design and a Bachelor of Studio Art from Colorado College.

Exhibit Services’ new Supervisor of Fabrication and Preparation is Kurt Beardsley.

Kurt comes to Exhibit Services with 40 years of experience in Concert and Theater Production, where he served as a carpenter, props fabricator, rigger, lighting technician, and production manager.

“I am thrilled to be joining Exhibit Services,” said Kurt. “As I am happiest when creating in service of the arts.”

David Rohr, Division Director of Museum Resources, commented, “I enthusiastically welcome Lila and Kurt to their new roles on the Exhibit Services team. I know that their talent and leadership will enhance both the visual quality and visitor experience for exhibitions in the Santa Fe state museums.”

Since 1964, the Exhibit Services Bureau has collaborated with the Santa Fe state museums and the Historic Sites Division to develop, design, and install engaging exhibits for citizens of New Mexico and visitors from out of state. These are professionals who use their hands, minds, and creativity to create an exciting and informative experience for all museum visitors.

Museum of New Mexico Press (MNMP) and the Museum Resources Division (MRD) of NM Department of Cultural Affairs (NMDCA) are pleased to welcome Erin Adair-Hodges as the Director of MNMP. Erin is a prolific writer and educator who has also headed both small and commercial literary presses.

Erin was born and raised in central New Mexico and has been a professor of writing for 20 years. She is an award-winning author of two poetry collections, 'Let's All Die Happy and Every Form of Ruin.' "It's an incredible honor to be charged with stewarding the press as we continue to honor the voices and visions of our New Mexican culture, history, and art,” said Adair-Hodges. “In every sense, this is the best kind of homecoming I could ask for."

David Rohr, Division Director of Museum Resources, commented, “Erin’s experience in the literary arts is exceptional, and we are elated to welcome her as the new director of MNMP. I'm confident that her leadership will sustain MNMP’s long tradition of publishing books that complement the exhibitions of the state museums and celebrate New Mexico's rich culture.”
