An Urgent Reminder from the SF Sheriff’s Office:

Law enforcement agencies will not call you for payment regarding warrants or fines. Please do not share any personal information and don’t let the caller intimidate you. If you have ANY doubt, hang up immediately and call the agency directly from a trusted number that the caller did not provide you with. Do NOT follow their instructions, and please don’t give your credit card information, wire or transfer money, and don’t buy gift cards to settle the “debt”.

Scammers will use ANY tactic to get your hard-earned money including using names of active law enforcement agents and agencies, don’t fall for it!

We will not call you if you have a warrant. We will NEVER call and request any type of payment from you. If you receive a call that threatens you with arrest, don’t pay! Warrants cannot be rectified by payments or wire transfer.
