Did you know SNAP rules have changed? Many adults now need to complete 80 activity hours each month to keep their SNAP benefits.

Adults ages 18-64 who do not have an exception must work, volunteer, or attend job training programs at least 80 hours each month.

Save copies of your pay stubs, supervisor-approved volunteer logs, or job training forms to show proof of your required hours.

Upload required documents to YES.NM.GOV during your initial application, SNAP renewal, or if your activity hours drop below 80 hours a month.

Learn more about the new SNAP rules and see a list of exceptions at HCA.NM.GOV/snapchanges

Stronger together, New Mexico! September is National Recovery Month, and we’re proud to join communities across New Mexico in celebrating more than 30 recovery‑focused events happening in 20 counties statewide. Recovery is for everyone — every person, every family, every community. See link in the comments for event details.

Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham has proclaimed September 2026 as Recovery Month in New Mexico, honoring individuals in recovery and the families, professionals, peer support workers, advocates, and communities who make recovery possible every day.

This statewide effort comes as New Mexico continues expanding access to behavioral health, substance use treatment, overdose prevention, and crisis services. Since launching in 2022, New Mexico’s 988 Su***de & Crisis Lifeline has supported more than 281,000 calls, texts, and chats from people seeking help.

Today, Aug. 31, is International Overdose Awareness Day. 💜 (Español Abajo)

We remember those whose lives have been lost to overdose, stand with the families and communities affected, and support people on the path to recovery.

Overdose is preventable. Knowing the signs of an overdose, carrying naloxone and reducing stigma can help save lives.

The New Mexico Health Care Authority’s Behavioral Health Services Division works to expand access to treatment, recovery services and overdose prevention resources across New Mexico, including naloxone education and distribution.

💜 Together, we can save lives.

💜 Juntos podemos salvar vidas.
