The City of Santa Fe is seeking applicants to serve on the Planning Commission. Commissioners review and make decisions or recommendations on land use matters, including development plans, rezonings, subdivisions, and General Plan amendments.

Open positions:

β€’ District 2
β€’ District 3
β€’ At-Large

No planning background is required. If you are interested in land use, neighborhood issues, and the future growth of Santa Fe, we encourage you to apply.

City of Santa Fe offices and facilities will be closed on Friday, June 19, 2026, in observance of Juneteenth.

Closures include Santa Fe Municipal Court, Recreation Centers, Public Library branches, Senior Centers, and the Transit Administration Office.

City visitor centers, Marty Sanchez Links de Santa Fe Golf Course, buses, and parking meters will operate on their normal schedules. Residential and commercial collection schedules will not change.

Thanks to the quick actions of Santa Fe firefighters and assisting officers, an early morning fire at Hotel Santa Fe was quickly contained and guests were safely evacuated. Several individuals were treated for smoke exposure, and no firefighter injuries were reported. The cause remains under investigation.

🚨 EMERGENCY ROAD CLOSURE 🚨

A Grade 1 gas leak has been identified on Guadalupe Street between West San Francisco Street and West Alameda Street.

The northbound lane of Guadalupe Street is closed and is expected to remain closed throughout the night while emergency repairs are completed.

Drivers should avoid the area, expect delays, and use alternate routes. Please follow all posted traffic control signs and directions from crews on site.

Thank you for your patience as this emergency repair is completed safely.

Join Mayor Michael Garcia and community members on Monday, June 29, from 6–8 p.m. at the Santa Fe Community Convention Center for an important conversation about homelessness in Santa Fe and collaborative, long-term solutions for our community.

Child care services and language interpretation services will be available to help make participation accessible.
