If, by now, you have not received an email saying your banner application has been accepted for this year’s program, I’m sorry to say that you missed our cutoff.

We were overwhelmed by the response. We had made our quota in a few hours.

Last year it took two weeks to hit our quota and we had 50 less spots available last year.

While we are still processing the applications if you are wondering if you are on the list or not, feel free to email us at [email protected] and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

Regardless of whether your loved one made the list or not, please know we honor them just as much as those whose banners got into the program this year.

If you have been notified that your NEW application for a Santa Fe Heroes Banner was accepted and you intend to email us a photo of your Vet, please note the following:

The email address to send it to is:
[email protected]

Please send a photo large enough to reproduce successfully.

If it is blurry to you, it will be blurry when printed on the banner.

Send it as a jpeg RGB file if you can. We have successfully used photos taken with a mobile phone but please make sure your phone is set to take the biggest file possible.

Also, if you can change the title of your image, give it the full name of your Veteran. If you can't do that, make sure you tell us his or her name in the email.

When you send your email to us, please put in the title " Santa Fe Heroes 2026 Photo, (Full-Name-Of-Vet)"

If you prefer to have us digitize your photo, please email us at [email protected] and we will discuss arrangements.

This year's response to our application process was massive.

Last year it took us two weeks to reach 200 applications.
This year, we got 250 (and more) by noon of the same day.

For those of you who successfully sent in an application before noon it would be good to send in the DD-214 or equivalent to our email account at [email protected].

Please note that just because you sent it in before noon that does NOT guarantee you a spot in this year's program. We went over 250 before noon.

However, there might be some issues with some banner applications and some people might drop out for reasons unknown, so it would be safe to go ahead and send in that proof of service.

All documents sent to us are kept secure and disposed of when not needed.

Applications for the 2026 Santa Fe Heroes Banner Project are now CLOSED!

We sincerely thank everyone who applied. We were swamped by entries for this year. Our committee will be meeting soon to tally the list for this year and will be contacting those on the list and informing them of the next steps.

We currently have over 350 emails and application forms arriving at our in box and it is continuing. It might not be possible to respond to everyone's questions at this time.

Our committee will meet next week and finish the list for this year's banner program.

The applicants on the list will then be contacted as to the next steps in the process.

Be sure to email your veteran's DD-214 to [email protected] as soon as possible to complete your application.

The notice is small and comes up quickly so you might not notice it.

Judging from the comments and emails we expect a much larger turnout than before so send in that application as soon as we go live.

Organized by the Knights of Columbus, the program this year will offer 250 slots to those hoping to recognize a veteran.
