Community Partners In Caring

Community Partners In Caring We serve Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo Counties This allows our older seniors to realistically age in place.

Established in 1997, Community Partners in Caring is a Volunteer organization that recruits, screens, trains, and matches volunteers with clients 62+ and 18+ with disabilities with little to no support. Our mission is to provide volunteer support services that allow our senior population to live independently while maintaining dignity, respect, and quality of life. The seniors we serve reside in

the North Santa Barbara County area, lack the support network as well as the financial means to get the help they need. Our services include: free of charge door-through-door local transportation to health related appointments as well as the grocery store; friendly visits, help with yard work, and reassurance phone calls (to check in on those who live alone). We are building up other services: minor home repairs, respite care, help with paperwork and help with light house cleaning. We've recently implemented an intergenerational volunteer program that brings youth and the elderly together in mutually meaningful activities, such as youth teaching seniors how to reconnect/stay connected with loved ones through video chat and other social media apps. At Community Partners in Caring, WE LIVE the word "CARING," not only in the way we serve our seniors, but in the way we appreciate our volunteers, treat our staff/board members, partner agencies, and the public. We invite you to live the word "caring" through us by supporting our work.

Today is National Say Something Nice Day β€” and honestly, it's one of our favorites. πŸ’›

To our incredible volunteers: THANK YOU. The rides you give, the groceries you carry, the phone calls you make, and the smiles you bring mean more than words can say to the seniors and adults with disabilities you serve every single day across Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo Counties.

We'll go first β€” you are kind, generous, and you make our community a better place. πŸ™Œ

Now it's your turn! Drop a kind word for someone in the comments below. πŸ‘‡

β˜€οΈ Today is National Heat Awareness Day β€” and for seniors living alone, the summer heat isn't just uncomfortable. It can be life-threatening.

As temperatures rise across Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo Counties, many of our seniors and adults with disabilities are at serious risk of heat-related illness β€” especially those who live alone and have no one nearby to check in.

Here are 3 simple ways to protect a senior neighbor this summer:
βœ… Call or visit regularly β€” especially on hot days
βœ… Make sure they have access to cool water and shade
βœ… Help them get to cooling centers if needed

Our volunteer Friendly Callers do exactly this β€” providing regular, caring check-ins that keep seniors safe and connected all year long.

Know a senior who could use a friendly voice? Or want to BE that friendly voice? We'd love to connect you. πŸ’›

Today is World Hunger Day β€” and for many seniors right here in Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo Counties, food insecurity is a very real daily reality. 🌾

Many of the seniors and adults with disabilities we serve live on fixed incomes, can no longer drive to a grocery store, and have no one nearby to help. Without support, a missed meal isn't just uncomfortable β€” it's dangerous.

That's why Community Partners in Caring volunteers show up every week to deliver groceries, run errands, and make sure our neighbors have what they need to stay healthy and at home.

This World Hunger Day, will you help us reach more seniors in need? A gift of any size makes a direct, local difference. πŸ’›

Today is National Senior Health & Fitness Day β€” and we couldn't be more proud of the role Community Partners in Caring plays in keeping seniors healthy, active, and independent every single day! πŸ’ͺπŸ’›

Good health starts with access. For many seniors and adults with disabilities across Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo Counties, getting to a doctor's appointment, picking up a prescription, or simply having a friendly face check in can make all the difference in the world.

Our volunteers make that access possible β€” one ride, one grocery delivery, one friendly call at a time. Because healthy seniors make a stronger community for all of us.

This National Senior Health & Fitness Day, join us in showing up for the seniors in our community. We'd love to have you on our team. πŸ’›

Did you know today is National Paper Airplane Day? ✈️

It got us thinking β€” a paper airplane is really just a simple act of hope. You fold it, you let it go, and you trust it'll fly. That's not so different from what our volunteers do every single day for seniors and adults with disabilities across Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo Counties.

They show up. They give their time. And they trust that a ride, a warm meal, or a friendly phone call can carry someone a little farther than they could go alone. πŸ’›

Today, why not fold a paper airplane AND pay it forward? We'd love to have you on our team.

We are grateful. We will never forget.

Happy National Road Trip Day! πŸš—πŸ’›

Most people celebrate today with a playlist, a tank of gas, and an open highway. Our volunteers celebrate it the way they do every day β€” by hitting the road for someone who needs them.

Every trip our volunteers make across Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo Counties is a road trip with purpose. A ride to a doctor's appointment. A run to pick up prescriptions. A drive that means a senior doesn't have to worry about how they'll get there.

This National Road Trip Day, consider hitting the road for someone else. We'd love to have you behind the wheel. πŸ’›

Today is Global Accessibility Awareness Day β€” a powerful reminder that access isn't a privilege. It's a right. β™ΏπŸ’›

For millions of seniors and adults with disabilities, everyday tasks that most of us take for granted β€” getting to a doctor's appointment, picking up a prescription, buying groceries β€” can feel completely out of reach without the right support.

That's where Community Partners in Caring comes in. Since 1997, we've been breaking down barriers across Santa Barbara County and now we're doing the same in San Luis Obispo County, one ride, one delivery, and one friendly call at a time. Because everyone deserves access to care, connection, and independence β€” no matter their age or ability.

This Global Accessibility Awareness Day, help us reach more people who need us. Join our volunteer team. πŸ’›

Happy World Bee Day! πŸπŸ’›

Did you know a bee colony only thrives when every single bee shows up and does their part? No bee is too small. No role is too insignificant. Together, they build something extraordinary.

Sound familiar? That's exactly how Community Partners in Caring works.

Every volunteer who picks up a senior for a doctor's appointment, delivers groceries to a homebound neighbor, or makes a friendly call just to check in β€” they're part of our hive.

Our hive has room for more. πŸ’› Join us today.
