You say you don’t want a war with Iran? Well, you are too late!

Iran has been at war with us since 1979!

A simple Google search reveals the following:

In 1979 Iranian students seized the U.S. Embassy in Tehran, holding 52 Americans hostage for 444 days

In the 1980s, Iran began using proxies like Hezbollah to target Americans abroad. Notable attacks include:

April 1983: Su***de car bombing at the U.S. Embassy in Beirut killed 17 Americans.

October 1983: Truck bomb at the U.S. Marine barracks in Beirut killed 241 U.S. service members, the deadliest attack on Marines since WWII

1984–1985: Kidnappings and assassinations, including CIA station chief William Buckley, and hijackings of U.S. citizens .

1990s: Iran-backed groups continued targeting Americans:

1996 Khobar Towers bombing: Truck bomb killed 19 U.S. Air Force personnel in Saudi Arabia; Iran was found directly responsible
Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad attacks in Israel killed multiple Americans, including bus bombings in Jerusalem.

During the Iraq War (2003–2011), Iran armed and trained militias responsible for at least 603 U.S. troop deaths. In Afghanistan, Iran supplied weapons and safe havens to select Taliban factions, contributing to attacks on U.S. and NATO forces

2020–Present: Iran attacked U.S. bases in Iraq, causing over 100 traumatic brain injuries.

2023–2025: Iranian-backed militias launched over 180 attacks on U.S. forces in Iraq, Syria, and Jordan, killing and wounding multiple Americans.

STOP THE TAX BASED ON HOW MANY MILES YOU DRIVE!

Isn’t it amazing that democrat candidates are running on the affordability crises while simultaneously trying to raise taxes?

Consider the effort in Sacramento to establish a vehicle miles traveled tax, also known as VMT.

What’s that?

It would be a new tax that would tax you for every mile you drive.
For two car families, it is estimated that it will cost your family a couple of thousand dollars minimum in extra taxes.

Please oppose this tax by contacting the governor’s office immediately at (916) 445-2841

Of course, this tax would be on top of all the other taxes you are already paying to have the privilege of driving on our undersized, potholed-filled highways and freeways throughout the state.

That is, we pay the highest gas taxes in America at the pump. We pay over 70 cents per gallon in state taxes while people in Alaska pay 9 cents per gallon.

But on top that we pay a federal excise tax, a low carbon fuel tax, plus local taxes.

All in all, we pay over $1.30 in taxes for every gallon of gas we purchase.

And now they want to double the taxes by charging us by the mile?
The point here? The price per gallon of gas doesn’t differ between the states!

It is the price of government that causes our gas prices to be nearly double the rest of the country.

But wait, that is not all.

For instance, Santa Barbara County has a tax on all purchases in the county that adds up to $1 billion over 30 years for transportation projects.

And California voters also approved SB1 that added another $50 billion in fuel taxes over 10 years for CA drivers.

Please call Governor Newsom at (916) 445-2841 and tell him to veto the VMT bill!

Also call your State Assembly and State Senators before it is too late!!!

Che’ Carbajal and the Monroe Doctrine

Even MSN will confirm that Trump is not the first president who did not get congressional consent to carry out military actions in another country:

“In 1950, President Harry Truman used his authority to send U.S. troops to defend South Korea along with a U.N. Security Council resolution, but no authority from Congress. In 1980s, President Ronald Reagan ordered military force in Libya, Grenada, and Lebanon, and in 1989 President George H.W. Bush directed the invasion of Panama to topple the dictator, Manuel Noriega.”

Albeit the clear winner here though is Barack Obama. He dropped more than 26,000 bombs on seven countries — Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Pakistan, Somalia, Syria, and Yemen — in 2016 alone without obtaining congressional approval. He also helped to force regime changes in some of these countries. Never heard a peep from the democrats, did you?

Moreover, CBS also confirmed that the Obama administration publicly acknowledged that four Americans were killed in drone strikes as part of U.S. counter terrorism activities surrounding al Qaeda. That is, Obama killed Americans, who were likely traitors, but without a trial.

And yet, all the lefties in America are complaining that Trump has brought a narco-terrorist to justice after he had been indicted back in 2020 on narco-terrorism charges? And, just what did they expect to happen after Biden upped the reward for Maduro’s capture to $25 million before he left office?

America has had a doctrine in place for some 200 years called the Monroe Doctrine- which has been newly and hilariously dubbed the Donroe Doctrine! This doctrine set our hemisphere off limits to foreign powers with possible malign intentions to develop strongholds that could create vulnerabilities to America. We are long overdue in resurrecting the doctrine lest we ignore it to our own peril.

Yes, Russia, China, and Iran were up to their eyeballs in Venezuela propping up and defending a regime that served to destroy one of the richest countries in the world. How bad was it? Seven million Venezuelans fled the communist dictatorship. That was 20% of the entire population.

Why did so many have to flee? CBS reported the following: “The migrants have been fleeing years of failed socio-economic policies by the repressive regime of Nicolas Maduro, which has taken basic freedoms away from its citizens in trying to emulate the Cuban model. The UN Refugee Agency says people continue to leave Venezuela to escape violence, insecurity, and threats as well as lack of food, medicine, and essential services. This has become the second-largest external displacement crisis in the world, according to the UN.”

The US Department of State added the following: “Significant human rights issues included credible reports of: arbitrary or unlawful killings; disappearances; torture or cruel, inhuman, or degrading treatment or punishment; arbitrary arrest or detention; transnational repression against individuals in another country; unlawful recruitment or use of children by Maduro-supported groups in armed conflict; serious restrictions on freedom of expression and media freedom, including violence or threats of violence against journalists, unjustified arrests or prosecutions of journalists, and censorship; trafficking in persons, including forced labor; prohibiting independent trade unions or significant or systematic restrictions on workers’ freedom of association; violence or threats against labor activists or union members; and significant presence of any of the worst forms of child labor.”

Meanwhile, our erstwhile Congressman Salud (Che’) Carbajal, the foreign-policy, liberty-loving genius that he is, condemned the extradition of Maduro because it would deeply destabilize the country? The Venezuelans can only hope so.

What is the ultimate cause of the affordability crisis? Government keeps making things more expensive so they can keep giving themselves raises!

You can't fix STUPID! The people who were protesting against this ICE operation didn't realize, and still won't admit, that this particular raid was to FREE legal immigrants (H2A workers) from being exploited and blackmailed!!! The protestors went before the Board of Sups and no supervisor bothered to correct their error!

Federal agents arrested three undocumented individuals from Mexico and one U.S. citizen in the Santa Maria Valley on Thursday for suspected visa and labor

COUNTY SUPERVISORS FAIL TAXPAYERS AND CONSUMERS AGAIN!

Oil and Gas are not just used for fuel! We can't function without their byproducts!!!

Fuel for Thought? Laura Capps is Running on Empty!

County Supervisor Laura Capps is leading taxpayers and consumers off a financial cliff by way of her effort to eliminate oil and gas operations in our county. The first part of her proposal would consist of forbidding new oil and gas drilling. The second would amortize existing oil operations. Amortization is a process by which the county government would tell oil companies that they have already realized their investment-backed expectations and therefore the county can shut down their operations without getting involved in a takings claim. That sort of wishful thinking on Capps’ part is fraught with peril for the industry and its workforce, not to mention consumers and taxpayers.

For a fuller explanation of the legal and technical arguments against this action, I recommend you read the comment letters from both the California Independent Petroleum Association (see here: file:///C:/Users/andy/Downloads/Public%20Comment%20-%20CIPA.pdf)

and the Santa Barbara County Taxpayer Advocacy Center (see here: https://santabarbara.legistar.com/View.ashx?M=F...).

These public comment letters clearly spell out the fact that the amortization effort is clearly illegal with respect to the takings of mineral rights/assets and several other legal concerns. That is, the proposed amortization ordinance amounts to nothing less than malfeasance on the part of Capps and her colleagues. In short order, the county will get sued and they will lose, meaning taxpayers (they will pay for the cost of the lawsuit and damages) and consumers (they will pay higher prices at the pump) will suffer the consequences. The three supervisors (Capps, Lee, and Hartmann) who support this effort are merely virtue signaling in an echo chamber and everybody knows it. Nevertheless, with this amortization ordinance hanging over the oil industry’s head, it and the many other companies that service it, will have to think twice about continuing to invest in their operations here.

These kinds of actions explain why we are on the verge of $8 per gallon gasoline. More refineries are closing because they don’t have enough oil and gas to process that is produced in this state and the actions by this board will only accentuate and accelerate their predicament. Yet, that doesn’t mean we can do without the fuels we need every day. What it does mean is that we will be importing gasoline by tanker to CA from half-way around the world, India, and South Korea to be specific, and Capps will consider that an environmental victory of sorts.

Moreover, it is incredulous that Capps and company continue to ignore that oil is more than just a fuel stock. Upwards of one-half of every barrel of oil can be used to produce thousands of byproducts and derivatives that our society and economy can’t do without.

For instance, I have challenged this board time and time again, if they eliminate oil production, how and where are they going to get the asphalt to pave our roads? They won’t allow our local oil producers to truck their production out of the county, but they are okay with shipping and trucking the same products to us here?

Of course, the sups are hoping that the elimination of oil and gas operations in CA will force people to switch to renewable energy to power our vehicles and homes. Yet, it is impossible to manufacture any vehicle, including an electric vehicle, without oil byproducts and derivatives, such as plastic, which is as ubiquitous and omnipresent as can be.

What follows is a very short list of a few of the byproducts of the oil and gas industry. Please review it and share it. It demonstrates that oil and gas have been a godsend, which is more than I can say for Laura Capps and company.
