Walk through your home, garage, basement, or storage unit. Look for quality items you no longer use but that still have value. Grab your phone or camera and take at least 5 clear photos from different angles.
Step 3: List for a Cause
Log into your eBay account and create your listing. Set a fair price and in the description, proudly state that the sale supports The People’s Diabetes Foundation.
Step 4: Donate 100% of the Proceeds
When listing, you’ll see an option to donate a portion of the sale. Select “YES,” then search for and select “The People’s Diabetes Foundation.” When asked what percentage to donate, please choose 100%. That’s it—your entire sale becomes a direct contribution.
Step Five: Ship with Ease
Once sold, allow the buyer to choose their preferred shipping method. Your effort turns an unused item into vital funds for our mission.

🥬 50% non-starchy vegetables
Spinach, cabbage, okra, callaloo, cucumbers, and other leafy greens.

🍗 25% protein
Fish, chicken, eggs, beans, lentils, and other protein-rich foods.

🍚 25% starches or ground foods

Just a 10-minute brisk walk after your largest meal can help lower blood sugar naturally by helping your muscles “squeeze the sponge” and absorb more glucose.

A glucose test is a snapshot 📸
It shows your sugar at that exact moment.

An HbA1c test is the movie 🎥
It shows your average sugar over the last 2-3 months.

That means you can have a good reading today, but still have an A1c that shows your sugar has been running high over time.

That’s why both matter, but the A1c shows the bigger picture of how your body is handling sugar.

A1c guide:
Below 5.7% = usual range
5.7%–6.4% = prediabetes zone
6.5%+ = diabetes range

We must shift from rigid medical control to person-centered support. This means addressing the real-world barriers: inequity, cost, and mental health, that clinical outcomes often overlook. Care is only effective when it is equitable, humane, and shaped by the voices of patients themselves.

True progress starts with listening.

– What defines real progress in diabetes care, and who defines it?
This article challenges us to think beyond clinical outcomes and consider the lived realities of people navigating diabetes every day. It highlights how meaningful change must be shaped not only by systems and policies, but by the voices of those directly affected.

Too often, decisions are made without fully understanding the daily trade-offs, barriers, and inequities people face. By centring lived experience, we move closer to care that is not just effective, but equitable and humane.

For advocates, healthcare professionals, and policymakers alike, this is a reminder: listening is not optional—it’s foundational to progress.
