Saint John's Health Center Foundation We provide leadership and philanthropic support to Providence Saint John’s Health Center.

Incorporated in 1975 as a separate tax-exempt 501(c)(3) corporation to advance the mission and goals of the Health Center, the Saint John’s Heath Center Foundation is governed by an all volunteer board of directors and trustees, who bring their leadership skills to ensure that Saint John’s Health Center is here for their community – now and in the future. Trustees work tirelessly with the Foundati

on staff to vision, plan, initiate and maintain structured programs of support for the Health Center’s capital, equipment, programmatic needs, community outreach and to carry forward the Health Center’s mission of compassionate care. When the Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth came west to build Saint John’s, generous neighbors helped these pioneering women purchase the land upon which Saint John’s Health Center campus stands. The Foundation grew out of the original Saint John’s Hospital Guild founded in 1947 to carry forward the mission of compassionate care set forth by the Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth. That mission is continued now through the healing ministry of Providence Health & Services. The Foundation is the chief financial engine contributing to state-of-the-art facilities, equipment, technology, programs and services at the Health Center as well as ground-breaking cancer research at the John Wayne Cancer Institute.

Providence Saint John’s Health Center’s Cardiac Rehabilitation Program has earned national certification from the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation, becoming the only program in West Los Angeles to hold this designation.

Achieving certification followed a nearly two-year journey of reviewing, documenting and validating the program’s processes, quality measures and patient outcomes against rigorous national benchmarks.

This recognition reflects a multidisciplinary effort to set a high standard for cardiovascular care in our community, and we're proud of the dedicated team members whose hard work and commitment helped make this milestone possible.

We’re proud to share that Providence Saint John's Health Center earned national and regional recognition in U.S. News & World Report's 2026-27 Best Hospitals rankings.

Ranked among the top nine hospitals in Los Angeles and Orange counties and the top 14 hospitals in California, Saint John’s earned national rankings in orthopedics and urology, with orthopedics landing among the top 19 programs in the nation. The health center also earned a high-performing specialty designation in geriatrics and high-performing ratings across multiple procedures and conditions.

These honors reflect the dedication and expertise of the caregivers and physicians who continue advancing clinical excellence and delivering leading-edge, compassionate care to our community.

Wise & Healthy Aging is one of Saint John's Community Impact Fund partners! 💙

Wise & Healthy Aging, a Santa Monica-based organization, advances the dignity and quality of life of older adults through leadership, advocacy and high-quality, innovative services. Annually, WISE serves more than 20,000 individuals aged 50+ offering social programming, hot lunches, care for older adults with memory loss, care management, peer counseling, and advocacy through their elder abuse prevention and Long-Term Care Ombudsman programs.

Providence Saint John's Health Center is honored to once again be recognized by the American Heart Association's Get With The Guidelines® program for excellence in stroke and cardiovascular care.

This year, Providence Saint John's earned Get With The Guidelines® Stroke Gold Plus recognition, along with Target: Stroke Honor Roll Elite Plus, Advanced Therapy and Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll distinctions. We also received Coronary Artery Disease STEMI Receiving Gold with Target: Type 2 Diabetes and Coronary Artery Disease NSTEMI Bronze recognitions.
