We are looking for enrichment volunteers to provide program support assist with daily operations. No experience is necessary to be part of the team! The enrichment program runs on a seasonal schedule in the winter and spring. Opportunities are available at all elementary schools in Santa Monica. The CREST Youth Office is now open to the public. Patrons are now being served in our office, one person/family at a time. The State of California is fully reopening its economy and LA County is working to modify its health guidance. Santa Monica will follow the lead of our County health authority and make gradual changes to our COVID-19 safety requirements. The City is committed to a safe and clean Santa Monica, and will continue to require all visitors and City staff to wear face masks when indoors in City government facilities to ensure a safe reopening process for all staff and visitors and to ensure compliance with Cal/OSHA standards.

CREST Club campers learned about the traditions around Dia de los Mu***os and created an alter to celebrate loved ones who have passed on. This Sunday, join the City virtually to celebrate Day of the Dead. This family-friendly hour will include an overview of this celebration of life and death, live Day of the Dead inspired music, presentations of altars by local community members, and a workshop on how to make a paper flower for your own altar.

This evening Los Angeles County Department of Public Health announced the next step in public health protections: “safer at home”. City of Los Angeles and joined, along with our four Westside city neighbors

What does “safer at home” mean? It means, stay at home as much as possible.

You can still make outings for essential things like:

- Going to the grocery store

- Going to the pharmacy to pick up medications and other healthcare necessities

- Taking a walk, riding your bike, and being in nature for exercise -- just keep at least six feet between you and others in your community

- Walking your pets and taking them to the veterinarian if necessary

- Going to work if you provide essential functions such as healthcare, government, food service, utility services, and public infrastructure

If you do need to head out, please remember to keep six feet apart from other individuals and wash your hands.
