WISE & Healthy Aging is the result of a 2007 merge between WISE Senior Services and Center for Healthy Aging (formerly Senior Health & Peer Counseling). Each organization served the community for more than three decades, earning national reputations for innovative and effective programs and services. Today, WISE & Healthy Aging acts as the as the trusted source and voice between senior adults and services available to seniors in Los Angeles County.

WISE is thrilled to be participating in the inaugural Pacific Palisades Motor Classic coming up this Saturday, June 13. The streets around Palisades Village Green will be filled with cars, from vintage roadsters to exotic supercars to the latest in EV technology. This event will have something for everyone and WISE will be on-site sharing resources available to older adult survivors of the Palisades Fire.

Proceeds will support the rebuild of The Lowe Family YMCA (formerly Palisades-Malibu YMCA). Every entry, partnership, and purchase contributes directly to strengthening the Pacific Palisades and Malibu communities.

Congratulations to Harry Palmer, long-time Peer Counselor at WISE, who was selected as a Third District Honoree for the 61st Annual Older Americans Recognition Day this past Friday, May 29.

The ceremony honors older adults making meaningful and lasting contributions that strengthen communities and improve the quality of life of residents across Los Angeles County, and is hosted by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, L.A. County Aging & Disabilities Department, and the Los Angeles County Commission for Older Adults. What a wonderful way to wrap up and honor this year's theme, "Age Well: Champion Your Health," by acknowledging Harry's tremendous commitment to service, connectedness, and healthy aging!
